Beloved of All
Your burden for your family member is heard, and your desire to protect and provide for your own is right before the Lord. Scripture teaches that we have a particular responsibility to care for those of our own household, and that to provide for them is a matter of faithfulness. When you step forward as a protector and advocate, you are fulfilling that God given role of a near kinsman who stands in the gap to redeem and defend one who cannot defend himself.
God sees what is happening. He is the ultimate Judge and He is not indifferent to arrogance or to the neglect of the vulnerable. At the same time we do not blame Him for the hard heartedness or poor treatment that comes from people. He grieves over it and He calls His people to act in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us. Your body and your loved one's body belong to the Lord and are to be treated with dignity and honor. Within the one body of Christ, when one member suffers all the members suffer with it, and that is why your pain is not isolated. It is shared, and it is to be borne together in prayer.
I join you in praying that the Lord will work in this situation and through you. May He soften hearts that have been resistant and bring them to respect the lawful authority He has allowed for the protection of your loved one. I pray that every chart, every door, and every meeting needed for proper care will be opened to you without delay, and that those appointed to advocate, including state advocates and those who defend the rights of people with disabilities, will act swiftly, bring order where there is confusion, and help place your loved one under care that honors both the law and his God given dignity.
May the Lord give you patience and strength as you wait and persevere. Present suffering is real, but God is preparing an eternal weight of glory and He is working in you even now because He wants to work through you. Continue to walk in love, to speak truth with grace, and to trust that He who has made you part of His family will be your peace and your help.
Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this loved one before You. You see his need and his worth. We ask You to move upon the hearts of those in authority at this facility to act with humility, compliance and compassion. Grant favor for lawful access to be granted, for clear communication, and for just advocates to move quickly on his behalf. Provide caregivers who will treat him with respect and kindness as one made in Your image. Sustain this family member who is advocating, give wisdom, endurance and peace, and let Your justice and mercy be evident in this place. Amen.
