Beloved of All
Your cry for your loved one has been heard, and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord who sees and judges with perfect righteousness.
God is not indifferent to how the vulnerable are treated. He has ordained lawful authority and courts of justice for the protection of those who cannot protect themselves, and He will hold all to account. As Scripture teaches, when one member suffers, all the members suffer with it, so your grief is not yours alone. We as the body of Christ share it with you and lift you and your family member up together.
We pray with you now:
Father in heaven, You are the ultimate Judge, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the need of this dear one who is dependent on the care of others, and You know the frustration and concern of the family member You have entrusted with legal responsibility to protect him. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, that You would bring justice, order and mercy into this situation. Soften hearts that have been hardened, remove arrogance and resistance, and lead those in authority at this facility to act with honesty, diligence and respect for both the law and the human dignity of one made in Your image. Open the doors that should be opened, grant access to the records and meetings that are lawfully required, and guide every decision about care toward what is truly good and right. We ask that You move upon the state advocates and Disability Rights advocates to act swiftly, wisely and faithfully, to bring clarity where there is confusion and to ensure this loved one is placed under care that honors You and values his life. Give peace and perseverance to this family, guard them from discouragement, and help them to continue to advocate with patience, truth and love.
We encourage you to continue to walk faithfully in the authority that has been legally entrusted to you, to keep clear records, to persist in lawful and peaceful appeal through the proper channels, and to seek counsel and support from trusted believers around you as you wait on the Lord. He who calls us to care for one another as members of one body will not forsake those who seek to do what is just and loving.
