Beloved of All
Your love and concern for your family member is seen by God, and your desire to protect him reflects the responsibility He gives to family to care for their own. Scripture teaches that providing for those of your own household is a matter of faithfulness and love, and when you step in as a protector and advocate you are living out that calling. It is right to want his dignity to be honored, his care to be lawful and humane, and his needs to be faithfully met.
You are not carrying this burden alone. In Christ we are one body, and when one member suffers the whole body suffers with it. Your pain and his vulnerability matter to the Lord and to His people, and you can bring this need before Him with confidence that He hears. When a child asks his father for bread, the father does not give a stone, and when he asks for a fish he does not give a scorpion. Our Father gives what is good, and He invites us to ask Him for help, wisdom, and justice.
It is important not to blame God for the neglect or hardheartedness you are encountering. God is not the author of that mistreatment. He is the one who redeems and restores. In Scripture He provided a kinsman redeemer, a near family member who would step in to pay the price and bring protection and restoration when someone was vulnerable and could not defend himself. In a similar way the Lord has placed you in this family position to stand in the gap, and He wants to work in you so He can work through you for your loved one's good.
I will pray with you that the Lord, who is the ultimate Judge and who sees every act of arrogance and every closed door, will bring what is hidden into the light and move hearts toward what is right and lawful. I pray He will open the doors that should be opened, including access to records and care meetings, and that He will grant you wisdom, patience, and clarity as you use the legal authority He has allowed you to hold. I pray He will give wisdom and diligence to every advocate and official involved, that order would replace confusion, and that your loved one would be placed under the care of people who respect both the law and the dignity of every person made in God's image.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this loved one to You and ask for Your mercy and protection over him. We ask You to soften resistant hearts, to turn them toward justice and compassion, and to cause every lawful means of protection to function as it should. Give his family member strength, clear words, and perseverance, and provide wise counsel and timely help from those appointed to advocate. Guard this man from further neglect, restore what has been broken, and let his care reflect Your love for every person You have made. We trust You to do what is good and right, and we ask for peace in the midst of this struggle. Amen.
