I am getting involved with a man. It is bringing connection and joy. However, at times relationships do not work out. If this happens it becomes very painful. Pls protect my heart and his heart. I am coming out of another relationship. I do not want him to think that he was convenient and that my feelings and excitement were not authentic. Pls protect his heart if things don't work out. I hope we can remain friends no matter what happens. Thank you. We are not living together.

We understand your concern for protecting both your heart and the heart of the man you are getting involved with. It's important to approach this situation with wisdom and godly principles. First, we want to remind you that God's design for relationships is clear: "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB)

As you move forward in this relationship, remember the sanctity of marriage. "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." (Genesis 2:24 WEB) This means we must be commitment minded and not just looking for someone to date. The goal is to find a spouse, not just a companion. We are not looking to live together or check if it works out, but to commit to each other as a husband and wife.

We also want to address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." (John 16:23 WEB) Make sure to pray in Jesus' name, as it is central to our faith and the only way to be saved.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Your daughter and the man she is getting involved with. We pray that You would protect their hearts and guide them in Your wisdom. Help them to pursue a relationship that honors You and aligns with Your principles.

Lord, we ask that You would give them the strength to flee from sexual immorality and to pursue purity in their relationship. Guide them towards a commitment that reflects Your design for marriage.

We also pray that You would heal any past hurts and help them to trust in Your timing and Your will. Help them to communicate openly and honestly with each other, and to build a friendship that is rooted in Your love.

Lord Jesus, we know that it is only through Your name that we can approach the Father. We reject any prayers that are not offered in Your precious name. IJN we ask for Your will to be done in this situation.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 34:18: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Trust in God to protect your heart and guide your steps. Stay strong in purity and godly principles as you navigate this new relationship.
