pls pray that i get a real boyfriend

Anonymous

Beloved of All
pls pray that i have a real boyfriend. I am tired of having non committed relaitonships. My father put words of bad faith over my life in relation to everything. He said that i was worhtless, stupid and no one would ever love me and that i would die alone, crazy making hand puppets on the wall. My mother expected me to be an old maid so i could be her caregiver until she died. Which is what i am stuck doing now. i have given up years of my life in terms of career, relationships marriage and children. I can no longer have children to please my mother. This needs to stop. It is time for me to live and enjoy life and that includes having a boyfriend while im stuck taking care of my mom.

We hear the deep pain and longing in your heart, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting up every broken place to Him. The words spoken over you by your father were cruel and destructive, but they are not the truth of who you are in Christ. The enemy would love for you to believe those lies, that you are worthless, unloved, or destined to be alone. But God’s Word declares that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen and dearly loved by Him (Colossians 3:12), and that He has plans for your welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your mother’s expectations have stolen years from you, and that is not God’s design. While honoring your mother is a biblical command (Exodus 20:12), it does not mean sacrificing your entire life to meet her demands. You are not called to be her lifelong caregiver at the expense of your own purpose, joy, or the family God may still have for you. We pray for wisdom and courage for you to set godly boundaries, trusting that God can provide care for her in ways that do not require you to forfeit your future.

You long for a committed relationship, and we believe God hears that desire. However, we must address this with biblical truth: what you are seeking is not just a "boyfriend," but a godly husband, a man who will love you as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), who shares your faith, and who is committed to marriage as a lifelong covenant. Courtship with the goal of marriage is the biblical model, not casual relationships that leave you empty. We rebuke the spirit of loneliness and despair that has kept you in cycles of non-commitment, and we declare that God can restore what has been stolen from you.

We also must speak plainly about the sexual immorality that often accompanies the pursuit of "boyfriends" outside of marriage. Fornication is a sin that grieves the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:18-20), and it will only deepen the wounds in your heart. If you have been involved in such relationships, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness and healing. His grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore you (1 John 1:9).

Your worth is not defined by your ability to bear children or by the approval of your parents. God can still write a beautiful story for your life, even now. We pray that He would open doors for you to meet a godly man who will cherish you, lead you spiritually, and honor your commitment to your mother while helping you step into the life God has for you. We also pray for provision, whether through family, community, or professional care, to help shoulder the responsibility of your mother’s needs so you are not trapped indefinitely.

Father God, we come before You on behalf of our sister, asking You to break every chain of generational curses, lies, and bondage that have held her captive. We rebuke the words of death spoken over her life and declare that Your words of life and love are the only truth. Lord, heal her heart from the rejection and abandonment she has felt. Restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and give her the courage to walk in the freedom You died to give her.

We ask You to bring godly friendships and mentors into her life who will speak truth and encouragement to her. Provide a way for her to receive the care and support she needs so she is not bound by guilt or obligation. And Lord, if it is Your will, bring a godly man into her life, a man after Your own heart who will love her as Christ loves the church. Prepare her heart to receive him, and his heart to pursue her in a way that honors You.

Above all, draw her closer to You, Jesus. Let her know that she is never alone, for You are with her always (Matthew 28:20). Fill her with Your peace and hope, and let her see herself as You see her, precious, valued, and deeply loved. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We see how much this has cost you, the years set aside, the words still ringing from your father, and the weight of being the one your mother depends on. Those words said more about his brokenness than about your worth. You are not worthless, you are not stupid, and you are not destined to die alone. The ache you feel now is not selfishness. It is the truth in you finally saying that you matter too.

While you hope for a committed relationship, we would gently encourage you to find a wise Christian counselor or pastor to walk with you. You have carried a parent-shaped weight that was never yours to carry alone, and a faithful outside voice can help you set boundaries with your mother without drowning in guilt. That kind of healing will also help you choose a partner from strength rather than from exhaustion.

Father, thank You that this woman is fully seen and known by You. Quiet the voices that spoke worthlessness over her, and anchor her identity in Your steady love. Give her courage to make room for her own life again, even while she cares for her mother. In Your time, bring a godly man who will honor her and pursue her with clear, committed love. Give her wisdom, hope, and small moments of joy this week. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The words which your father spoke over you were a curse, and they have bitten into your soul like a serpent's fang. But there is a brazen serpent lifted up; look to Him and live. Christ was made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. The sentence of a father cannot fix your end. You are not worthless, for God gave His Son for you. You are not unloved, for the Lord hath loved you with an everlasting love. The father of lies would have you believe you will die alone, but Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. Let His word break those old chains.

You are sick of non-committed relationships, and well you may be. Yet I cannot ask the Lord to bless your having a boyfriend, for a boyfriend is not the ordinance of God; a fleeting affection without covenant is not the portion of a Christian. What I will pray is that you be healed, forgiven, and kept pure, and that if it seem good to Him, He would bring you a godly husband in holy matrimony, a man with whom you may serve the Lord. Do not settle for less than what the Lord approves.

Your mother's demand that you remain an old maid for her sake is not the voice of God. You may honor her and serve her as unto the Lord, but you are not her property. If God opens the door to marriage, you must obey God rather than man. Yet while you are in that house, do not grow bitter; the Lord may be teaching you patience, and His delays are not His denials.

The lost years and the lost hopes of children are a heavy grief. Bring them to the Great Physician. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ has healing in it. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings.

I will set this before the Lord: that the false words spoken over you be broken, that the wounds of your heart be healed, that you be kept pure, and that if it be His will, He would provide a godly husband for you in His own time. But your first need is not a man; it is Christ. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain has been heard and we want to pray for you with both compassion and truth. What your father spoke over you was cruel and false. You are not worthless or stupid, and you were not made to die alone. God made you in His image and He loves you, and in Christ you have great value and dignity. The words of a parent can wound deeply, but they do not define you. Only God defines you, and He calls you His own when you trust in Jesus Christ, who alone saves us.

We also hear your grief about your mother and the years you have given to care for her. To honor a parent and to do good works of care is precious to God, and your faithfulness in this hard season has not been unseen. Yet to demand that a daughter give up marriage and children and her whole life to serve as a lifelong caregiver is not what God requires. It is right to care, and it is also right to seek help, to set healthy limits, and to allow others in the church and family to share the burden so that you are not consumed.

You asked for prayer for a real boyfriend because you are tired of relationships without commitment. We understand that longing for love and for someone to stand with you is deep and good. God created that longing, but He created it to be fulfilled in the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, not in non committed relationships. Marriage is a bond ordained by God and it is honorable and pure. Living together or sharing sex outside of marriage is not holiness, and it does not lead to peace. It brings a heavier burden of sorrow and anxiety and disappointment. True holiness is chaste and orderly living, whether unmarried in purity or married in faithfulness to one spouse. For this reason we will not ask God to bless a non committed relationship, but we will pray for what is better.

We will pray that God heals your heart from the lies spoken over you and restores your hope. We will pray that He lifts the weight of shame and gives you rest, for the yoke of Christ is easy and His burden is light, while the yoke of sin is heavy and restless. We will pray that He provides practical help and community around you as you care for your mother, so you are not alone in it. And we will pray that if it is His will, He will bring into your life a faithful Christian man who will love you with commitment and seek you as a wife in marriage, and that He will keep you pure and at peace while you wait, following peace with all people and holiness.

We also grieve with you over the loss of the chance to have children. That is a real sorrow. God can still give your life fruitfulness and purpose and joy, even when one hope has passed. Do not believe the lie that your life is now without meaning or love.

Let us pray for you. Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ Your Son who alone saves. Look with mercy on this daughter who has been wounded by words of rejection and weighed down by years of caregiving. Silence the lies that she is worthless and unlovable. Speak Your truth over her that she is valued and loved by You. Forgive her sins and heal her heart. Give her strength and wisdom as she cares for her mother, and provide others to help her carry this load. Lead her away from relationships without commitment and guard her in purity. If it pleases You, provide a godly husband for her in Your time, a marriage that is faithful and lifelong. Above all, give her Your peace and let her find her life and joy in You. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so openly about such deep pain. What your father spoke over you was cruel and untrue, and what you have carried in caring for your mother at great personal cost has left you feeling stuck, grieving years and the family you hoped to have, and longing to be truly loved and chosen in a committed relationship. That longing for faithful love is understandable, and God sees the hurt and the sacrifice.

Those words spoken over you, that you are worthless and unlovable and will die alone, are not God's verdict on your life. Scripture warns that turning from God brings curses, including confusion and brokenness, but it also reveals that God has made a new covenant through Jesus Christ and His finished work. Relationship with God is no longer based on keeping the law perfectly, but on simple faith in what Jesus has done. Through His blood atonement is made, and He bore the curse for us, even the thorns that came from the curse were placed upon Him. When you put your trust in Him, God imputes that faith to you for righteousness and blesses you. Your identity is not defined by a father's curse or a mother's expectation, but by Christ who loved you and gave Himself for you. Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends, and Jesus laid down His life for you. You are not worthless. You are deeply loved.

God also shows us His heart for committed love in the picture of marriage. From the beginning His design was that a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two become one flesh, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. This union is meant to reflect the faithful, intimate love between Christ and His church. That is why Scripture calls us to cultivate first an intimate, loving relationship with Jesus Himself, and to let that relationship shape every other relationship. Salvation and hope for the future are found only in Him.

Because of that design, I cannot pray that God would bless a non committed relationship or a living together arrangement or sexual intimacy outside of marriage. Scripture teaches that sexual intimacy belongs within marriage, where husband and wife are called to faithfully love and give themselves to one another, and not to withhold from each other except by mutual consent for a time of prayer. To live together before or outside of marriage, even as a trial to see if you get along, or to pursue intimacy without covenant, is not God's way, and the fact that many people do it is not a reason for a child of God to do the same. You are called to be separate and different, faithful to the Lord as in a marriage covenant, because worshiping and living in ways that break His design is unfaithfulness to Him.

Your desire for a real, committed love is good, but God's good gift is marriage, not a boyfriend in the casual sense. If it is His will for you, the prayer is for a godly husband who will love you faithfully as Christ loves the church, not for a temporary companionship while you remain in a difficult caregiving season.

I also hear how heavy the caregiving burden has been. Honoring your mother is right, but you are not required to accept a spoken destiny that you must remain alone to serve her until she dies and forfeit the life God has for you. It is wise to seek godly counsel and practical help in your church community, to establish healthy boundaries, to care for your own health and calling, and to grieve the loss of the children you hoped to have, bringing that sorrow honestly to the Lord who can redeem even years that feel lost.

My prayer for you is that God would heal the wounds of those false words and replace them with His truth, that you would grow in a deep daily fellowship with Jesus and know His love more intimately, that He would lift shame and confusion and give you joy in serving Him, that He would provide wisdom and support as you care for your mother, and that if it is His will, He would in His time bring a faithful, godly husband who will enter a lifelong covenant with you and cherish you, and that you would be kept pure and hopeful as you wait on Him.
