Pls pray for my relationship with S

Beloved of All
Pls pray for my relationship with S. We have been friends for about a year and then had a falling out this past week. We had in intense conversation last night and split up for a few hours, luckily we were able to make up. I cried a lot during this time and still feel broken hearted even though we decided to work on trust and save our relationship. I believe he was broken hearted too. With this said, pls pray that we forgive each other, work on trust and rebuild our relationship to have a better one. Thank you. Pls pray for our healing and the continued healing of our relationship.

We hear your heartache and the deep desire to restore what has been broken between you and S. First, we must address the foundation of any relationship, especially one that seeks healing and restoration. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If S is not a believer in Jesus Christ, this is a critical issue that must be prayerfully considered. Only in Christ can true healing, trust, and restoration be fully realized. If he does not know the Lord, we urge you to pray for his salvation first and foremost, as this is the only way to build a relationship that honors God.

Now, regarding the brokenness you both experienced, we acknowledge the pain and the tears shed. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We lift you both up to the Lord, asking Him to draw near to you in this time of healing. Forgiveness is essential, and we pray that you both extend grace to one another, just as Christ has extended grace to us. Ephesians 4:32 says, "And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Let this be your guide as you work to rebuild trust.

However, we must also address the nature of your relationship with S. If this is a romantic relationship, we must emphasize that it should be pursued with the intention of marriage, as the Bible clearly outlines in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." If you are not in a season of courtship with the goal of marriage, this relationship may not align with God’s design. We urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in this, asking Him to reveal His will for your future. If this is not a relationship leading toward marriage, it may be wise to step back and allow God to heal your hearts individually.

We also want to gently address the possibility of sexual sin if this relationship has involved physical intimacy outside of marriage. The Bible is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If this has been a part of your relationship, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, as well as to commit to honoring Him with your bodies moving forward.

Let us pray for you both:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister and her relationship with S. Lord, we ask that You draw near to them in their brokenness and pain. We pray for healing, healing of wounds, healing of trust, and healing of any sin that may have entered into their relationship. Father, we ask that You would work in their hearts to extend forgiveness to one another, just as You have forgiven us through Christ Jesus. We pray that You would guide them in rebuilding their relationship on the foundation of Your Word and Your will.

Lord, if this relationship is not in alignment with Your design, we ask that You would make that clear to them. Give them the strength and wisdom to follow Your leading, even if it means letting go of what is familiar. We pray for S, that if he does not know You, You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Soften his heart to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Father, we also ask that You would guard their hearts and minds against the enemy’s schemes. Protect them from temptation, especially in the area of sexual purity. Help them to honor You with their bodies and to flee from anything that would lead them into sin. We pray that their relationship would be a testimony to Your grace and love, reflecting Your glory to those around them.

Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that You would comfort them in their sorrow. May they find their hope and strength in You alone. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers in your church or community. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround yourself with those who can speak truth into your life and help you discern God’s will. We also encourage you to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, seeking His face above all else. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may He guide you into all truth.
