We hear your heart’s gratitude and joy for this new connection in your life, and we lift it before the Lord with both hope and discernment. First, let us affirm the beauty of companionship and the desire for love, joy, and honesty—these are gifts from God when rooted in His design. However, we must also speak truth in love, for the Bible is clear that relationships are meant to honor Him and reflect His holiness.

Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If this person is not a follower of Christ, we must gently but firmly encourage you to consider whether this relationship aligns with God’s will. Even if they are a believer, we must examine whether this connection is moving toward the godly purpose of marriage, as the Bible presents no other context for romantic relationships outside of this lifelong covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

We also urge you to guard your heart against the temptation of physical intimacy before marriage. The world may call it harmless, but God’s Word calls it sin—*fornication*—and warns that it defiles the body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship is not leading toward marriage, we must ask whether it is wise to continue investing emotionally in a way that could lead to compromise or heartache.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the gift of companionship, but we ask for Your wisdom and discernment in this situation. Lord, if this relationship is not of You, reveal the truth and give the strength to walk away. If it is Your will, guide these two hearts toward a godly marriage, rooted in Christ and built on Your principles. Protect them from temptation, Father, and help them to honor You in all things. May their love be selfless, pure, and glorifying to You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in prayer and Scripture, asking Him to confirm whether this relationship is part of His plan for your life. If it is not, trust that He has something far greater in store. If it is, pursue it with holiness, patience, and a commitment to His ways. Above all, remember that your worth and identity are found in Christ alone, not in any human relationship.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
