Pleeeeeeaseeee pray :(

Your fear right now is real, and it makes sense. When something as precious as eyesight feels threatened, the heart can race and the mind can spiral. But I want to remind you that the deepest kind of wisdom begins with a reverential awe of God, not a cowering terror, but a steady recognition of who He is, His power, and His love. That awe is like a starting point that holds all true knowledge together. To hate what God hates and cherish what He cherishes grounds us in a way that nothing else can.

Often, the Scriptures show a link between the state of our soul and the state of our body. We are learning more all the time how attitudes and emotions can shape our physical well-being. A heavy, fearful heart can release chemicals that wear us down, while a heart anchored in trust brings health like medicine to our frame. This isn’t a simple promise that every illness instantly vanishes, many believers have faced sickness, but it is a real principle that turning toward the Lord and away from anxious dread matters to our whole being.

Fear and faith cannot occupy the same space for long. When you fix your eyes on the size of the problem, fear swells and faith shrinks. But as you deliberately call to mind the Lord, His nearness, His compassion, His constant presence, fear begins to lose its grip. Remember Peter on the water: as long as he looked at Jesus he walked, but the moment he shifted his gaze to the howling wind and waves, terror took over and he sank. Jesus didn’t abandon him then; He reached out and held him. And He holds you now.

I will absolutely pray for you, that God would spare your eyesight, steady your heart, and grant wisdom to any doctors involved. But I also want to encourage you to not let this sudden fright drive your actions or rule your mind. Do what is prudent, seek medical help, rest, care for your body with good nourishment, but don’t let the spirit of fear move you into panic. God is your confidence, and He can keep your foot from being taken. Let your heart meditate on who He is, not just on what you see in the mirror or feel in your body. As you deepen that reverent awe, you’ll find a strong refuge, a place where your soul can prosper even while you wait for physical answers.

You are not alone in this. Your cry has been heard. Stay near to Him, and trust that He will provide exactly what you need for each day.
