We have read your request and our hearts are moved with compassion for you in this heavy and uncertain season, and we are lifting you up together before our Father in prayer.
We understand that terrible weight of guilt you are feeling, that sense that you only come to God when you hit rock bottom or when you need divine intervention, and now you feel too ashamed or uncertain to even pray. Please know that what you are feeling is common, and God is not pushing you away for it. He sees your heart and He draws near to the brokenhearted. As it is written, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. His mercies are new every morning and His loving kindness never fails Lamentations 3:22-23. He does not think of you with disappointment or anger as people might, but with steadfast love. We are convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39.
We want to gently encourage you that God actually invites us to come to Him precisely when we are at rock bottom and in need. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. The very fact that you are turning to Him in your need is not something that shames Him, it is what He desires. At the same time we encourage you that He longs for more than crisis visits, He longs for daily fellowship with you. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. So we can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need Hebrews 4:16. Do not let guilt keep you from that throne, let it drive you toward it. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you James 4:8.
We also hear you saying that you are not able to pray right now, and we want to reassure you that God understands even wordless groans. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered Romans 8:26. Even when you have no words, your tears and sighs are prayers to Him.
We noticed you spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and peace with Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who died for your sins and rose again, we encourage you to call upon His name today, believe in Him, and you will be saved and welcomed fully as a child of God. It is through His blood that we can come without fear or uncertainty about what God thinks of us.
Concerning your toxic work environment, we are praying with you for God’s favor, protection, and peace there. We pray that He will guard your heart, give you wisdom for every interaction, and let you be a light even in a difficult place. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23. We pray for strength to endure, for grace to respond with gentleness and not be overcome by the toxicity around you, and if it is His will, for open doors to a healthier place or for transformation within your current workplace.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift our dear one to You who feels heavy with guilt and uncertainty and unable to pray. We thank You that You see and love this precious soul and that Your thoughts toward them are thoughts of peace and not of evil Jeremiah 29:11. Lord, wash away the guilt and shame with the assurance of Your forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and help them to know how deeply they are loved and valued by You. Holy Spirit, intercede for them and give them words and peace when they have none. Draw them into daily communion with You, not only in need but in joy and in quiet moments, that they may know Your presence continually. We ask for Your favor and protection over their workplace, for wisdom, for peace that surpasses understanding, and for Your will to be done in that environment. Restore their strength, lift their burden, and let them rest in Your grace. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
