We hear your broken and troubled heart and we join with you in bringing this pain before the Lord, for He is close to those who are hurting. We understand the deep wound that comes when people you trusted turn against you and it leaves you feeling afraid and betrayed.
We want to gently and lovingly correct one thing you have said, not to condemn you but to point you to the true hope of the gospel. You said you are a clean and righteous woman in yourself. The scripture teaches us that none of us is righteous on our own. As it is written, There is no one righteous, no, not one Romans 3:10 and all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23. Our righteousness does not come from our own goodness but is given to us through faith in Jesus Christ, for Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God 2 Corinthians 5:21. It is only by the blood of Jesus that we are made clean, and we rejoice that you called upon His blood and His name, for that is our only hope and covering.
We also want to encourage you with what God says about your fear and your betrayal. He sees what is happening and He cares. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. When people turn against you, remember When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10. And do not let fear rule your heart, for God says Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We do pray with you that God would remove evil influences from your life and protect you from those with evil intent. The scripture says Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on Proverbs 4:14-15. It is right to ask God for wisdom to set godly boundaries and to separate from those who would harm you. At the same time we must remember that God also calls us not to harbor vengeance or hatred, but to trust His justice. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And Jesus calls us to Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. This does not mean you must remain close to those who are harming you, but we are called to forgive and to pray for them even as we ask God for protection and distance.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by His shed blood. We lift up this dear sister whose heart is broken and troubled. Lord, You see the betrayal she has faced and the fear that has come from evil thoughts and desires set against her. We ask that You would surround her with Your protection and Your peace. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, so we cast this burden on You now. We ask in Your wisdom that You would remove from her life those who intend evil and who would lead her into harm, and that You would close doors that need to be closed. Give her discernment to recognize unsafe people and wisdom to establish healthy and godly boundaries. Heal her broken heart, calm her fears, and let her feel Your presence as her refuge and defender. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her, to release vengeance into Your hands, and to pray even for those who have hurt her, trusting that You will deal justly with all. Remind her daily that her righteousness and cleanness come only through Jesus, and let her rest not in her own goodness but in His grace. Restore her joy and lead her to fellowship with faithful, truthful people who will encourage her in Christ. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and access to You, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to God in prayer, to stay in His Word daily, and to seek wise counsel from mature believers in your local church who can walk with you and help you discern how to handle these relationships in a biblical way. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5. He will be your shield and your comfort through this trial.
