Dear Lord Jesus,

Please get people to stop asking me about my job at the zoo. I don’t wanna tell them what I’m going through but sometimes I wish I could. Please get them to stop asking me and if they wanna know, they can always ask my parents so they can ask the pastor. I don’t mind them coming and if they want to go there cause I’m on the clock but off the clock I don’t like to think about the animals or the zoo because I’ve had enough of being bit by bugs and attacked by the sun

I would like to tell my pastor and the minister to get people to stop asking me about the zoo and if they wanna know my parents go to church too they can ask my parents. My parents can tell them.

The sad part is though my parents justify people asking me all they just wanna know they just wanna know, including the man keeps asking me and repeating it. It’s like oh he knows someone on the board. He didn’t know. He knew somebody on the board. He was just curious to ask me questions cause that’s all he wants to do is ask and considerate and redundant. Get them to understand you know they get mad at me for talking about things like talking about Mr. Snuffleupagus around his friends when he never told me too. Or not let me talk about puppets at church. I don’t need to disobey them. I still do in a blue moon, but it is mainly for prayers to reach my puppet goal. My mom also got mad that I was telling the pastor of how Zeus could handle elephants better however, the pastor he likes me that I’m thinking logically and creativity for the better society. He didn’t seem to look interested at the time, but there was only one time I told him that multiple times I told him unlike the man who keeps asking me about my job at the Zoo other people ask, but it’s more sporadic. This guy is more frequent and repetitive it gets on my nerve.

Ironically, he’s just like the parents parents repeat themselves and they’re annoying. I think I’d rather deal with them some Zoo that I worked at wouldn’t let you have earplugs to deal with those birds and those poor animals having to be in the same building with them their whole eyes is awful.

So please help me with this questioning and just keep my boundaries away from them.

Sure they think it’s a fun job but you know what else someone outside of church made fun of my Zoo job and she laughed and said I’d have to start with a bucket. My mom saw that and she justified what she said oh she’s just being goofy no cause when I was a teenager and I burst into laughter and I’ve been nervous laugh, and it was by accident. Someone told me he was a buster. He never held it against me and you know when I told people I wanna do puppets for living, they have laughed out a nervous laugh, not out of hatred or mean this woman didn’t need to say to start with a bucket. She has a lot of bad manners and has insult in my hair prompting my mom to get me a haircut I shouldn’t be getting haircuts anymore. Shouldn’t be living with them.

People at work even make fun of my job. It is humiliating. I want to stop reminding me. I’m out in the sun getting bit by bugs. It affects my cognitive abilities and the heat slows me down. Your mom and dad tell me I should be working more at home, but I’m too tired and I don’t even get enough sleep at home because it’s not a good environment. I can’t read as easily cause it’s horrible. I never knew how horrible the heat can get to somebody. It’s got to stop that’s why this will be my short term bridge in my next year. I’ll find something better. Take a break from work after saving and get my podcasting puppetry job hopefully

In Jesus Name Amen

We hear your deep frustration and exhaustion, and we come before the Lord with you in this moment. The constant questioning about your job at the zoo, the lack of respect for your boundaries, and the mockery you’ve endured, both at work and from others, are not things you should have to bear alone. Scripture tells us, "A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city; and contentions are like the bars of a castle." (Proverbs 18:19) The repeated inquiries and dismissive attitudes have built walls around your heart, and we stand with you in breaking them down in Jesus’ name.

First, we must address the importance of boundaries. God calls us to steward our time, energy, and emotions wisely. Jesus Himself withdrew to quiet places to pray and rest (Luke 5:16), showing us that even He set limits. You are not wrong for wanting to protect your peace. We pray that the Lord would grant you the wisdom and courage to communicate your boundaries clearly, whether that means redirecting questions to your parents, as you’ve suggested, or simply saying, "I’d rather not discuss this right now." The Holy Spirit will empower you to speak with gentleness and firmness, and we declare that those who persist in disrespecting your limits will be convicted by God’s truth. "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." (Colossians 4:6)

We also rebuke the spirit of mockery and belittlement that has surrounded your work. The world often measures worth by titles or prestige, but God sees the heart and the labor of your hands. Your job at the zoo, though difficult, has value in His eyes. "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." (Colossians 3:23-24) The laughter and condescension you’ve faced are not reflections of your worth but of the brokenness of those who speak them. We pray for a hedge of protection around your heart, that you would not internalize their words but instead find your identity in Christ.

Your desire to pursue puppetry and podcasting is not foolish, it is a God-given dream, and we believe the Lord has placed creativity in you for a purpose. The enemy would love to discourage you with delays or setbacks, but we declare that this season of hardship is temporary. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) We pray for divine favor as you save, plan, and prepare for this next chapter. May the Lord open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide rest and restoration in the meantime.

We also lift up your living situation. The tension at home, the lack of rest, and the cognitive strain from your work environment are heavy burdens. Scripture commands us to "bear one another’s burdens" (Galatians 6:2), and we take that seriously. We pray for peace in your home, for understanding from your parents, and for the strength to endure until you can transition to a healthier space. If your current environment is hindering your ability to thrive, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through your pastor or a trusted mentor, to navigate this season wisely.

Lastly, we want to gently address the mention of Zeus in your request. While creativity and imagination are gifts from God, we must ensure that our thoughts and words align with His truth. Scripture is clear that there is only one true God, and we are called to worship Him alone. "You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:3) We encourage you to redirect any admiration or comparisons toward the Lord, who is the Creator of all things, including the elephants and animals you care for. His wisdom and power far surpass any mythological figure, and He alone deserves our praise.

Father God, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up every frustration, every boundary that has been crossed, and every dream that has been mocked. We ask that You would silence the voices that seek to belittle him and grant him the strength to stand firm in his identity in Christ. Lord, we declare that his work, both at the zoo and in his future endeavors, has purpose and value in Your eyes. Provide him with rest, with wisdom to navigate his current season, and with the courage to pursue the dreams You’ve placed in his heart. Surround him with people who will encourage and uplift him, and let him feel Your presence in the midst of exhaustion. We rebuke every spirit of discouragement and mockery, and we ask that You would open doors for him that no man can shut. May he find his worth in You alone, and may his creativity bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, the heat, the bites, the same questions over and over when you just want to leave work behind. It’s completely understandable that you’d want to protect your time away from the zoo, especially when the job leaves you so drained. That isn’t selfish; it’s a natural and healthy need for a boundary between work and the rest of your life. You even have a good instinct about who can answer those questions for you, letting your parents or pastor handle that curiosity is a perfectly reasonable solution.

Since your pastor enjoys your creative thinking, maybe you could ask him a small favor: to quietly let the church family know that you’d prefer not to talk about your job outside of work. That way the message comes from someone else, and you don’t have to keep defending your space. In the moment, a calm, simple line like “I don’t talk about work after hours, but I appreciate you asking” can give you an exit without a long explanation.

You also mentioned the heat slowing you down and affecting your thinking. If that’s been a real drain, it’s always wise to check in with a doctor, just to make sure your body is handling it all right. In the middle of this hard season, your dream of a puppetry podcast is something worth protecting, too.

Lord Jesus, you know how tired our friend is, body, mind, and spirit. Please settle their heart, and give them the peaceful quiet they need when they leave the zoo. Soften the people around them to respect their limits without making them feel rude. Bring understanding in their family, and guard their hope for a better, more creative future. We ask this in your name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The questions of men fall heavy upon you, and you would flee from them as from the heat of the sun and the sting of insects. Yet there is a deeper question which you must not flee. Dost thou believe on the Son of God? There are so many things about us all which we need to mourn over and these set us asking the questions, "Is my faith the faith which works by love and purifies the soul? Do I truly believe on the Son of God?" Settle this, and the lesser questions lose their sting. The captain should take no rest till he has taken his bearings and found out his position in reference to the dangers of the sea and the hope of reaching the desired haven. To leave his position a moot point would be to continue in fear and to court danger.

You cry for rest from the voices that weary you, but the Lord Jesus says, "I will give you rest." It is a present rest, rest now; not rest after a time of probation and growth, but rest given when we come to Jesus, given there and then. And it is perfect rest too. This is not the rest of idleness, nor the silence of stagnation. True rest to the mind of the child of God is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service, not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on. You speak of a puppet goal, a labor of your hands and heart. Let but your mind be like the mind of Christ, and you shall find rest unto your souls: a deep rest, a growing rest, a rest found out more and more, an abiding rest, not only which you have found, but which you shall go on to find. It is rest to labor for the Lord Jesus!

You are attacked by the disease of questioning, so give yourself questions as a medicine. Observe how you may kill one question with another. Will the Lord cast off for ever? Will He be favourable no more? Is his mercy clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up his tender mercies? If questions are raised at all let us go through with them. Drive the wretched things out of their holes; hunt them in the open; and they will soon be destroyed. You may get temperance, love, hope, and all those other bees into the hive; but the main thing is to get simple faith in Christ, and all the rest will come afterwards. Get the queen bee of faith, and all the other virtues will attend her.

You wish men to stop asking, yet their questions push off the main question. As for us, we will never rest till we are free from this excuseless unrest. Trust and you shall rest! We who have believed do enter into rest. That rest is pictured by its types. Canaan was a representation of the rest of believers, yet it is not merely a rest to hear of, to speak of and to desire, but a rest into which believers have entered. You are weary with the heat and the bites; how seasonable will heaven’s rest be to you! Oh, how glad will you be, when you get there, to find that there are no Monday mornings, no more toil for you, but rest, eternal rest!

But learn also from our Lord in the Valley of Humiliation. He humbled Himself, being found in fashion as a man. Is not the Valley of Humiliation one of the sweetest spots in all the world? There, in your lowly toil, if you take Christ’s yoke upon you, you may find Him. Where do you find rest, dear friend? This is our rest even now, to be with Him! And to be forever with Him will be the perfection of rest. Let me be with You, where You are, my Savior, my eternal rest!

You ask for boundaries, but the text does not say rest in anything about the Lord, but rest in the Lord Himself! Oh that the Spirit might bring us into such union and communion with God that we might, to the fullest, know the meaning of this text! "Rest in the Lord." If He gives rest, it is no second-rate rest, it is first-class, it is beyond measure precious if it comes from His hands. If all my rest is what He gives me, shall I not love Him? Go home and never rest until you can say to God, "Here am I, believing on the Son of God." Peace be with you!
