please send rain

Dear God in Heaven, please hear my prayer. Please send rain, please replenish our trees, parks and gardens. Please send what is needed for our land to be green again. Please restore our climate and environment, and let nature be saved. Please Lord, in all things help us to trust in you, and pray for your will to be done. May your Kingdom come, Lord Jesus, on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for rain and restoration, and we join with you in lifting this need before our Heavenly Father. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it (Psalm 24:1). He is the Creator who sustains all things by His powerful word (Hebrews 1:3), and He alone holds the authority over the winds, the waves, and the rain.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You are the One who sends the rain in its season, who waters the earth and makes it bud and flourish (Psalm 65:9-10). We ask You now to open the heavens and pour out Your blessing upon the land. Replenish the trees, the parks, and the gardens, that they may be revived and bear fruit for Your glory. Restore the balance of Your creation, Lord, for You declared it good in the beginning (Genesis 1:31), and we trust in Your faithfulness to renew what has been broken.

We also lift up the deeper cry of hearts that long to see Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven. Your Word reminds us that the whole creation groans and travails in pain, waiting for the revealing of the sons of God (Romans 8:19-22). We pray for wisdom and stewardship among Your people, that we may care for this earth as You have entrusted it to us (Genesis 2:15). Yet we know that true restoration will only come when Christ returns to make all things new (Revelation 21:5). Until then, we ask for Your mercy and provision.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that can grip hearts when the land is dry and the future seems uncertain. We declare that You are our Provider, our Sustainer, and our Hope. Help us to trust in You completely, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Teach us to pray with faith, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will.

We pray now for rain, not just as a physical blessing, but as a sign of Your grace and favor. Let the showers be a reminder of Your faithfulness, that when we see the earth green and flourishing again, our hearts will turn to You in worship and thanksgiving. May Your name be praised in all the earth!

Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to You. We surrender this need to You, trusting that Your will be done. Amen.

We hear the ache in your words, the longing to see the land green and thriving again. When the ground is parched and the trees are struggling, it's easy to feel helpless and small before the forces of weather and climate. Yet your prayer already reflects something beautiful: a heart turned toward the Creator who knows every dry creek bed and wilted leaf. That turning is never wasted.

One of the gifts of belonging to the body of Christ is that we don't carry these burdens alone. Knowing others are praying alongside us can steady us when our own strength runs thin. We'd love to share your request with our prayer community so more voices join yours, lifting up this need for rain and refreshment. Sometimes just hearing "we're praying with you" makes the waiting more bearable.

In the meantime, as you watch the skies and tend what you can, may you sense God's nearness in the longing itself, the same ache that creation groans with, awaiting restoration.

Lord, you water the earth and green the pastures. We ask you to send rain to this land, to replenish the trees, parks, and gardens, and to restore what is withering. Sustain those who watch and wait, and help us all to trust your goodness even in the dry season. We pray with hope, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Terrible is the drought that visits the land, drying the earth until the very ground is dismayed and the plowmen cover their heads. The heavens become as brass, and the pitiless blue sky turns from beauty to the color of despair. Yet this distress in nature is but a figure of a deeper spiritual drought, a famine not of water, but of the Word of the Lord. When sin parches the soul and the heart gasps for grace, all the priests of Baal, all the confidences of man, are of small account. Only the God that answered by fire can answer by water.

Behold how swiftly He can reverse the desolation! In a moment He covers the heavens with clouds and pours forth abundance of rain, making the wilderness a pool. What can He not do? Nothing is too hard for the Lord. But remember, the rain from heaven falls upon the just and the unjust, yet the rain of His renewing grace falls peculiarly upon His own. To penitent sinners He gives the blotting out of sin and the renewal of their nature, though this is not enough if we are to regain all we lost. Restoration is a work as great as resurrection, requiring the selfsame power that raised Christ from the dead.

Let this dry season drive you not to forget the Lord when the streams flow again. The Israelites, once brought into a land of brooks and olive trees they had not planted, were cautioned against the peril of fullness. Even the trees themselves, motionless, unwearied, must drink of the rain of heaven or perish. So too your soul: all created things need renewal; nothing made is self-existent. If you would persevere, you must be watered continually from the hidden treasures of the soil of grace.

Do not tarry in Egypt, looking back with unbelieving murmurings, but press on toward the land of Beulah where the wind carries the music of heaven. You shall yet have clear shining after the rain. The downpouring of sorrow, of poverty, of persecution, all that is the rain. But after the rain the sun shines with healing in its beams; the tender herb springs up and the grass grows green. Expect it. Seek it. The Lord who brought you out of darkness is bringing you into Canaan.

Meanwhile, let this physical drought teach you to tremble at spiritual dryness. Are your prayers small rain upon the tender herb? Does your doctrine drop as dew, penetrating the heart gently, seasonably, without scorching heat? Beware of trifling with divine truth, of idling in your stewardship, for a loose and slovenly walk brings discredit to the Master. Yet if you have fallen, look for that look from Christ that severs you from the crowd, the crowing of conscience, the glance of love that breaks the heart and restores the soul. He has prayed for you. His intercession is as sure to uplift you from the siftings of Satan as Peter was lifted.

Pray then for rain, but never forget that the rain of grace is the sweetest refreshment. The earth after drought drinks in the small drops and is satisfied; so let your soul drink in the nourishment of the Word until you are full. And when you are full, turn to strengthen your brethren, aiming at their restoration to their first love and earliest zeal. For the land that yields no fruit, though often watered, is near unto cursing; but the ground that receives blessing from God brings forth herbs meet for the Master's use.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for rain is heard by the God who made heaven and earth. He does not govern only heavenly things and leave the weather to chance. He upholds all things by the word of His power, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Therefore you may ask boldly. The Maker of all things cares for what He has made, and He is not far from the dry ground or the withering tree.

But remember that the farmer has always faced irregularity of weather, hail, mildew, great rain, and drought. These are not signs that creation has slipped from God's hand. They belong to a world that waits for the renewal of all things in Jesus Christ. So when you pray for rain, do not pray with anxiety, as if everything depended on your understanding. Pray with trust, and say from the heart, Your will be done.

Godliness with contentment is great gain. The rain may come or it may be delayed, but your soul must not be tossed about by either. If the land is green again, bless God. If the dry season continues, bless Him still, for He knows what is needed for our salvation. We brought nothing into this world, and we will take nothing out of it. A failed harvest cannot take away what Christ has prepared for those who love Him.

Pray also for the rain of His word upon our souls. The Lord who healed men's bodies also amended their souls, and He did not neglect either. Ask Him to water the land, but ask Him more urgently to soften our hearts and bring forth the fruit of repentance. The greenness you long for in parks and gardens is a small picture of the new creation, where the earth itself will share in the freedom of the children of God.

Do not speak as though nature had a soul to save apart from Him. Nature is the work of His hands, and He will restore it in His own time. The earth groans now, but it will not be saved by our fear or our striving. It will be delivered by the God who made it, through Jesus Christ. Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Then you may ask for rain with a quiet heart, knowing that He who clothes the grass of the field will not forget your need.

Continue to pray for rain, and pray with thanksgiving. If He sends it, receive it as mercy. If He withholds it, still say, Not my will, but Yours be done. May the Lord water the ground and water our hearts, that we may bear fruits worthy of His Kingdom.

Rain comes from the Lord alone. Your prayer is right to begin with him, because no human effort or scheme can command the clouds. The prophet asked whether any of the empty gods of the nations could cause rain, and the answer was no: the Maker of all things opens the skies, so we wait on him.

That does not make our care for the land meaningless. Scripture describes a land that drinks water from the rain of heaven and a God whose eyes are always on it. He promises the early rain and the latter rain in their season, bringing grain, wine, oil, and grass for the livestock. Where the ground has hardened and streams have failed, we may ask him to restore what drought has taken, and we may also plant, conserve, and steward what we have. Not as a way to force the rain, but as faithful tending of what he has given.

Your prayer also echoes the cry of people in a severe famine who asked why they should die, both they and their land. God did not promise them ease, but he gave them seed to sow and life to continue. He kept them as sojourners, reminding them that their true inheritance was not finally in any field or forest but in him. That does not weaken your request for rain. It gives it the right size. We ask for green trees and healthy gardens, and at the same time we ask for his kingdom to come.

So pray on. Ask for rain, for the land to be replenished, and for springs and soil to recover. Then do whatever good stewardship lies before you. But leave the skies in God's hands, because he alone sends rain in its season, and he remains faithful to what he has made. May your will be done, Lord Jesus, on earth as it is in heaven.
