We join with you in prayer for your safety tonight and for the Lord's protection over you in every way and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus.
We are reminded of the promise in Psalm 121:7-8 that Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. And in Psalm 91:11 we are assured that He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We cling to these truths as we lift up your time on the road tonight.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we thank You for Your mercy and Your constant care over us. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would place Your hand of protection over our dear one tonight as they drive. Grant alertness, clear eyes, steady hands and wisdom on the road. Keep them from danger, from distraction and from any harm planned by the enemy. Command Your angels to encamp around them and to guard their going out and coming in. We also ask for Your ongoing protection over their life, their home and their loved ones, that they may walk in peace knowing You are their refuge. In Proverbs 3:23 we read then you shall walk in your way securely and your foot won't stumble, and we ask that this would be true for them tonight and in the days ahead. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and protector, amen.

Take a moment to check that you are rested and alert, let someone know your route and expected arrival, keep your phone put away while driving, and if weather or traffic looks difficult, allow extra time so you don't feel rushed. Those simple habits can support the safety you are praying for.

Your prayer for safety tonight is both wise and needful, for we are all in danger and constantly need to cry to God to keep us. There is not one of us who can keep himself for a single hour. We need an infinite Friend to keep us in safety against all the machinations of our adversaries and against the perils of the way.
Remember that our safety lies not in our own carefulness, though carefulness is required, but in our Savior. The Scripture says, Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty. He is as wise as He is able, and as able as He is wise, to keep you from falling. It is a grand thing to feel that His throne might sooner fail than that one of His people should perish unkept, for His throne itself is established in righteousness.
And you have this further comfort, that He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection. Keep then to the appointed way, the way of principle and of humble obedience, for the way of consecrated service for God's glory is a safe way, and there the promise holds. This protection is not for a moment only, but it is perpetual as well as personal, for you will always need divine and angelic keeping.
We join our prayer with yours tonight. May the Lord set His watch about you as you go forth and as you return, may He guide your hands and your eyes upon the road, preserve you from all harm and sudden danger, and bring you to your journey's end in peace.
