Please pray

Your cry about having no food and facing days of waiting with nowhere open has been heard, and the heaviness you feel is understood. Hunger is a deep and painful trial, and Scripture itself speaks of how greatly it afflicts a person, even describing those who pine away for lack of food. It is no small thing to endure, and it is understandable that your heart feels worn down.

That sense of losing hope is often what lies behind the deepest discouragement. When it feels like there is no way out and nothing you can do, the mind can sink into despair. You can think yourself into that dark place, and fear can make the situation feel even larger and more overwhelming than it already is. God knows that place of despair. He knows what it is to have tears without ceasing and to feel that strength and hope have perished, and He does not turn away from those who feel that way.

Yet even in that place of total despair, there is a way hope can return. It comes not by looking harder at the empty cupboards or the closed doors, but by deliberately setting your mind upon the Lord and remembering who He is. When you recall His faithful love and mercy, hope can rise again. His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is great. Getting your eyes off the circumstances, which may bring only sorrow, and getting them onto the Lord changes the whole perspective. You may still weep over your need, but you can rejoice in Him who sees you and who promises to be with you.

The Bible shows from the beginning that God is a provider of food. He gave to humanity the grains, fruits and vegetables for nourishment, and later He confirmed every moving thing as food, and He instructed Noah to gather and store food sufficient for his family and for all the living creatures with him for more than a year. The God who made provision for so many in the ark is the same God who sees your table now. When a servant once cried out in panic that all was lost, the prophet answered, fear not. That word is for you as well. The Lord looks down from heaven and beholds His people. He knows your affliction and your need for daily bread, and despair often comes from seeing only half the story, only what is in front of us, without taking God into account. If you could see the whole work He is doing, you would have reason for hope even while you wait.

I am praying for you in the name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear one who is hungry and losing hope. You see the lack in the house and the days of waiting ahead. You know the discouragement and the fear. Lord, have mercy and make Your presence known. Remind this heart of Your faithful love that never fails and Your mercies that are new each morning. Provide daily bread as You have always provided for Your people. Open a door for food and help that is needed now, comfort the heart that feels hopeless, and let hope rise again as the mind is set on You. Give peace, strength to endure this wait, and the assurance that You have not forgotten or forsaken. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our hope and our provider. Amen.

If you are able, please reach out even now to a local helpline, a neighbor, or emergency services for immediate help with food, and do not face this alone. You are not forgotten. May the Lord sustain you and show you His care in these days.
