Please pray

The fear you feel is real, and it is heavy. I am praying for you right now, not with many words, but with a heart that understands that desperate place. When our health fails and our sight is threatened, it is natural for panic to rise. But please hear this: worry is a futile exercise. It does not add a single moment to your life or bring clarity to your vision. Jesus himself asked, “Why are you anxious?” He pointed to the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, reminding us that if our Father cares for them, how much more does He care for you? Sufficient for today is its own trouble. Let us not borrow the troubles of tomorrow.

Often, fear takes hold because we have fixed our eyes on the threat rather than on the Lord. The enemy uses fear to paralyze faith; they cannot occupy the same space. The cure for fear is not first to demand a change in our circumstances, but to remember the Lord. Remember who He is. He is the God of all comfort, who draws near to those who are cast down and discouraged. He is the Lord your healer. In your prayer, you can call on Him as the One who desires to become exactly what you need in this moment. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Prayer is not a lever to force God’s hand or a ritual that requires a certain length to be effective. Those desperate, wordless cries of your heart are heard. Prayer is first about relationship. If you have come to Him through Jesus, you can call Him Father, and that changes everything. The purpose of prayer is not just to get your will done, but to align your heart with His will and to find rest there. Sometimes, like Paul, the answer is not the removal of the thorn, but the assurance that His grace is sufficient for you. Prayer often changes us more than it changes the situation, teaching us a deeper submission and trust.

I am joining my faith with yours, agreeing with you before the throne of grace for your healing and for peace. But let us also do what is wise and prudent. Prayer is not an excuse for inaction. Even as we pray, we set a watch. We make the doctor’s appointment. We take the necessary steps. We trust God and we act responsibly, knowing that He guides our steps. Do not let fear drive you to panic. Instead, let your fear be transformed into a reverent awe of a God who loves you, a holy concern that above all else, you would trust Him and not hurt Him through unbelief. Remember the Lord. He is with you in this valley, and you do not have to fear any evil.
