Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so openly what you have been through and for asking for prayer. What you describe is deeply distressing, living with fear in your own home, suffering physical harm from electric shocks, bearing wounds, and then facing angry accusations and repeated reports to the police when you were simply walking and reading Scripture. It is right to bring all of this before the Lord, because only He sees fully what happened in that apartment, what was in every heart, and what was intentional.
God does see and He does deliver. You quoted Psalm 34, that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all, and that those who hate the righteous will be condemned. That is true and it is a comfort. The Lord keeps His eye on His people, He knows the truth when things are hidden, and He has promised to bring what is done in secret into the light. We can pray with confidence that He will reveal what needs to be revealed in His perfect timing and way.
It is also right to pray for true justice. Scripture teaches that a nation and a community are built on pillars of righteousness, justice and equity, and when those pillars weaken everything is in danger. God loves justice because He is just. His law even taught that if someone bears false witness against a neighbor and tries to pin a crime on him, the false witness himself should bear the penalty he tried to bring on the other. That shows how seriously God takes lies and false accusations. It is not a small thing to accuse someone falsely, to spread a report heard second hand, or to call the authorities without cause. Jesus Himself faced that kind of false accusation when people tried to trap Him with claims that He forbade paying taxes and that He was stirring rebellion, though He was innocent. Pilate sensed the injustice even while the crowd pressed for condemnation. God saw it all.
We see the same pattern in the warnings about deception in Scripture. A false report is rarely all false. Often most of it sounds true, which is why it can deceive and spread so quickly. That is why we are told to be discerning, to test what we hear, and not to receive every rumor as truth. A woman hearing something from someone else and then shouting accusations, a subordinate mocking your injuries and repeating sensational claims, these are examples of how quickly a false narrative can travel and do harm. Praying that residents and neighbors see the truth is a good and loving prayer. God can give them clear eyes to distinguish what is true from what is not.
At the same time Scripture calls us to a different posture toward those who oppose us than natural anger would suggest. You have been hurt and it is understandable to feel anger when you have been mocked, when no apology or compensation has come, and when the landlord avoids responsibility. God understands that pain. Yet He also calls us to leave vengeance to Him and to pray for those who mistreat us. You prayed that the Holy Spirit would touch the landlord so that he stops lying and takes responsibility, that hardness would be broken and that a heart of stone would become a heart of flesh. That language comes from the prophet Ezekiel and it is exactly how we should pray, not for God to simply crush people, but for Him to soften, convict and bring to repentance. Perfect justice in God's hands is not only punishment for the unrepentant, it is also mercy for those who turn to Jesus, because at the cross Jesus bore the righteous penalty for sin so that sinners who repent can be forgiven. We can pray both that truth comes out and that each person involved, the former landlord, the woman who has shouted at you, the concierge who mocked you, would hear God's call, humble themselves and submit to Him.
Your experience of being repeatedly found innocent by the police is significant. In the same way that the apostle Paul was kept under lawful protection when false charges were brought against him, God has provided lawful authorities to examine claims and protect the innocent. Continue to walk peaceably, to keep the documentation and photos and the confirmation you received from electricians, and to cooperate calmly with those authorities. That quiet, consistent truth telling is powerful.
Persecution and false accusation are painful, but God often uses even that hardship to strengthen faith and to deepen love among believers. When the church has been pressed, true faith has been refined and believers have been drawn closer together. We see that you were able to show your documentation to others in your current house and they believed you. Thank God for that encouragement and for His protection each time you were accused.
So let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask You to shine light on what happened in that apartment. You know whether technicians were sent, whether systems were tampered with, whether electric shocks were caused intentionally, and who knew what. Bring the truth to light in a way that cannot be denied, and let lawful justice be done without partiality. Protect this dear one from further harm and from false reports. Heal the wounds to body and mind, and give peace while walking and reading Your Word. Work in the hearts of the former landlord, the woman who has been angry and abusive, and the concierge who mocked suffering. Break the hardness, grant a heart of flesh, bring conviction of sin and a willingness to tell the truth and take responsibility. Guard this person's heart from hatred or a desire for revenge, and fill it instead with trust in Your perfect justice and mercy. Let Your will be done, and let Your deliverance and Your truth be clearly seen. Amen.
We will continue to pray for your safety, for healing, for wisdom in every conversation with authorities, and for the Lord to be your defender and refuge.
