Please pray that God reveals the identity of the murderer and anyone who helped them. Pray for perfect justice.

We have read your request with care and with sorrow for what you have endured, the fear in your own home, the injuries to your body, the shock of being accused falsely and then mocked, and the frustration of not being heard when you sought answers.

We thank God with you that He has kept you and delivered you. You quoted Psalm 34 well, that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He does see, He does keep, and He will not abandon those who trust in Him. Your life is in His hands, and nothing hidden from Him will remain hidden forever. What is done in secret He will bring to light in His perfect time.

Scripture warns us to be discerning because deception is often not obvious. Those who mislead rarely tell only lies. They may speak much that sounds true, which is what makes the falsehood so convincing. Jesus warned that false prophets come looking like sheep, and the apostles warned that false teachers use smooth and deceptive words and will even deny the truth while appearing religious. For that reason we are told to test what we hear, to look at the fruit of a life and at the witness concerning Jesus Christ, and not to believe every claim quickly. The same principle applies to accusations and reports about others. Scripture also teaches that bearing false witness is a grave sin, and under the law a false witness was to receive the penalty of the wrong he tried to place on his neighbor. God hates lies and He loves truth, and He will judge with perfect righteousness where we can only see in part.

That is why we can entrust perfect justice to Him. Human justice is limited. We can and should seek lawful protection, keep careful records and photographs as you have done, and appeal honestly to those in authority when there is danger, but vengeance belongs to the Lord. He knows every heart, every motive, every act in that apartment, whether there was negligence, recklessness, or intentional harm. He knows also the truth about who entered where and what was said to whom. We will pray that what is true is clearly revealed, that any wrongdoing is exposed and dealt with justly through proper means, and that any false accusation against you is also exposed and cleared.

We also hear your prayer that hardness would be broken and that those who have refused to speak, to apologize, or to take responsibility would be changed. That is a Christlike prayer. God promises to take a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, and the Holy Spirit alone can bring conviction that leads to honesty and repentance. We will pray for the former landlord, for the woman who has confronted you, and for the concierge who mocked your injuries, not only that justice would be done but that they would be brought to see their need for mercy, to turn from lying, hardness and contempt, and to submit to God. Jesus calls us to love our enemies, to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who mistreat us, not because wrong does not matter, but because we have all needed the same mercy.

We know that being under pressure and being falsely accused is deeply painful. Scripture shows that persecution and affliction, while never good in themselves, can become a place where faith grows and love deepens as we are driven closer to Christ and to one another. It separates what is shallow from what is real. God uses such trials to refine His people, and He has promised that when He judges, those who have caused affliction to His people will answer to Him, and His righteousness will be clearly displayed. Let that hope steady you, so you do not return evil for evil or harsh words for harsh words.

We will pray for you now for continued safety, for healing of your body, for peace that guards your heart, for wisdom in every conversation with neighbors and authorities, and for strength to walk in truth and gentleness even while you seek what is right.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask You to reveal what is hidden and to establish the truth. You know whether harm was intended and who is responsible for what happened in that apartment. Bring what was done in secret into the light according to Your wisdom, and guide those in authority to act justly and thoroughly. Protect this dear one from further harm and from false accusation. Heal the wounds that remain. Soften hard hearts, convict of sin, grant repentance and a heart of flesh where there has been hardness and lying, and lead all involved to the mercy found in Jesus alone, who died and rose to save sinners. Help Your child to trust Your perfect justice, to forgive as You have forgiven, and to live in a way that bears good fruit and honors Christ. We ask this for Your glory and for good. Amen.
