Even when those closest to us fail us, we have this promise in Psalm 27:10, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up.
We also want to gently encourage you in what Scripture teaches about family. God calls us to honor our father and mother in Ephesians 6:2-3, but honoring does not mean allowing ourselves to remain in a place of continual harm or betrayal without wise boundaries. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Sometimes being at peace requires healthy boundaries, wise counsel from mature believers, and seeking safety while still walking in honor and forgiveness. Forgiveness does not excuse the hurt, but it releases you to be healed, as Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

To be wounded by the hand that should have sheltered you is a grief of the deepest kind, for the closer the relation the deeper the stab when trust is broken. If we admit one to our heart and give our closest intimacy, then can that one wound us in the most vital part.
Know this, that your Lord Jesus Christ is no stranger to such betrayal. He was betrayed by one who dipped with Him in the dish, and the words of the Psalmist received literal fulfillment in Him. For this very reason He is able to sympathize with you in every point. He knows the sting of unfaithfulness from those who are near, and He lives to be your High Priest, your refuge and your hiding place. As the mother bird gathers her chicks beneath her wings when the hawk is in the sky, so the Lord will cover you. Beneath His wings you are secure.
You ask also for healing from wounds carried for so many years. Hear the promise of Scripture, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. Though this wound be not provided for in earthly pharmacy, though no physician on earth can heal it, there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing were one in His hand. He still washes every wound with sacred water from His side and spreads the ointment of forgiving grace and binds around each wound the fair white linen of His righteousness.
