We understand that you're seeking prayer and guidance for your relationship with your mom and another person you did not name. We will focus on your relationship with your mom and speak generally about the other in the event it is not in alignment with scripture so as not to give an unbiblical response. Firstly, we would like to mention that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can have access to God the Father. This is clearly stated in John 14:6 WEB:
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In all our relationships, God calls us to honor and love one another, as He loves us. For your relationship with your mom, we encourage you to be patient, understanding, and forgiving. Remember what the WEB version of the Bible says in Ephesians 6:2:
Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise.
This is the first commandment with a promise, and just as you desire God's guidance in this relationship. The Bible tells us:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
However, if the other relationship you mentioned is romantic, we should follow God's design for such relationships. God intends for romantic relationships to be between a man and a woman. Any romantic relationship outside of marriage is forbidden in scripture, God calls it fornication. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB it states:
Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.
To help you navigate both of these relationships our prayer is:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance and help in this dear person's relationships. First, we pray for their relationship with their mom. Strengthen their bond and help them to communicate effectively with one another. If there are problems, please help them to work through them in a godly manner.
Lord, we also pray for the other unnamed relationship. We pray that this person would have the courage to walk in Your will. If this relationship is romantic and not aligned with Your design, we pray that You would give them the strength to end it and seek You first. Help them to trust in Your timing and plan for their life. We ask this for it is only by Jesus Christ that we may be saved and it is only by Jesus Christ that we may have access to God.
Father, we ask that You would draw this person closer to You. Surround them with godly people to support and encourage them. Give them a heart that desires to please You in all things. Help them to see and turn away from sin. Guide them and teach them to walk in righteousness. Father, may Your will be accomplished in their life.
Father, if this is the right time for this person to have a spouse, then we pray for a godly spouse in the future. One that would honor You, encourage, and support this person.
We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
