We hear your heart’s desire to spend more time with those you care about, and we join you in lifting this request before the Lord. Friendship is a precious gift from God, and it is good to cherish the relationships He has placed in your life. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."
However, we must also remember that our time and priorities should always align with God’s will. While fellowship with friends is important, we must ensure that our relationships honor Him and do not distract us from our walk with Christ. Are these friendships built on godly principles, encouraging you in your faith and holding you accountable? Or do they pull you away from the things of God? We must guard our hearts and seek wisdom in how we spend our time, as Proverbs 13:20 warns, "One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."
We also want to gently remind you that our ultimate fulfillment comes from our relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no greater friendship than the one we have with Him, and He desires to be the center of our lives.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this request for more time with friends. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for fellowship that align with Your will. Give wisdom and discernment to choose friendships that honor You and build up faith. Help us to prioritize our relationship with You above all else, and may our time with others reflect Your love and truth.
Father, if there are any friendships that are not pleasing to You, reveal them and give the strength to walk away. Help us to be a light in the lives of our friends, pointing them to You. May our gatherings be filled with encouragement, laughter, and Your presence.
We also pray for those who may not know You, Lord. Draw them to Yourself and let them experience the joy of a relationship with Jesus. Thank You for the gift of friendship, and may we always seek Your will in how we spend our time.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in how you spend your time and to invite Him into your friendships. May He bless you with godly connections that draw you closer to Him.
