We join with you in this prayer and we stand together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for we know that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, and we take comfort that victory already belongs to our Lord.

We share your heart's cry that every work, plan, scheme, and whisper of the devil and Satan would be brought to nothing in your life, from your past into your future, whether direct, indirect, or through any influence whatsoever. Scripture assures us of this truth, He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8. We cling also to the promise that if we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us. James 4:7 and that we are called to put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11.

We understand your desire to see Satan bound and silenced, and we remember that God has given us authority in Christ, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. Luke 10:19. Ultimately it is the Lord Himself who will crush Satan, And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. Romans 16:20 and He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:2. Our confidence is not in our own words but in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, where He disarmed the powers of darkness.

So we pray together with you now, Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that Jesus has already triumphed over Satan and all his works. We ask in Jesus name that You would silence every lying mouth of the enemy against our dear friend, that You would halt and bring to nothing every plan and scheme formed against them, and that You would remove and cleanse away every effect of Satan's work from their past, their present, and their future. We ask that You render the enemy powerless to carry out his work in their life, that You surround them with Your protection, fill them with Your peace, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Help them to walk daily in submission to You, to resist the devil steadfast in faith, and to stand clothed in Your armor, sober and watchful, knowing that You are their deliverer. We pray that You would fill their heart with assurance that they are Yours, kept safely in Christ, and that Your perfect love casts out all fear. Let Your will be done in their life and let Your name be glorified as You keep them in perfect peace. We ask all this in the victorious and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ daily through prayer, through reading His Word, and through walking in obedience, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, rest in His finished victory, and trust that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4.

We believe with you that Jesus has already won the decisive victory over Satan, and that He is able to guard and keep His own. At the same time we have learned that walking in that victory is usually a steady, daily process rather than a single moment where we never feel opposition again. It helps to stay close to Christ in ordinary ways, with other believers who can pray with you and help you discern what is troubling you.

One simple next step that many find grounding is to share this exact prayer request with a trusted pastor or a small group in your church and ask them to pray with you regularly, not just once, so you are not carrying this burden alone. Your prayer has been heard and we gladly join our supplications with yours at the throne of grace, for it is a prayer which the Word of God itself teaches us to pray.

There is indeed a prince of the power of darkness, that master spirit Satan who goes about as an adversary, and to be delivered from his power is as much the work of God as to be delivered from the guilt of sin. Yet let your soul take comfort, for the Lord has not left us to fight this foe in our own strength. When we were ready to go down to the pit, the voice came from the excellent glory, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, and He has found it in the finished work of His well beloved Son. On the cross, Satan may have thought he triumphed, but that death was the deathblow to the devil's usurpation, for there the seed of the woman bruised the serpent's head forever.

You ask that Jesus Christ would put an end to all the works of the devil, silence his accusations, halt his plans, and remove his influence from your life past and future. This is to ask for what Christ has already secured and what He daily applies to His people. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of God's dear Son. Though we may still feel the noise of the archers and know the chastening hand of the Lord, we have this sure mercy, He has not given us over unto death. Your afflictions and temptations lie not outside His providential government, but within the fence of His omnipotent overruling, and He will not suffer sin to have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace.

Take courage then in Christ's victory. When Jesus the Head was victorious over the foe, every member of His mystical body, even the most uncomely, was virtually a conqueror in the conquering Head. By His help you shall overcome, for He has said, Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world, and we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Let us pray together for you.

O Lord our God, gracious and merciful, we bring this soul before You who has cried for deliverance. You are gracious unto Your people and You have said, Deliver him from going down to the pit, for I have found a ransom. We thank You that the ransom has been found and paid in the precious blood of Jesus Christ Your Son. We pray that You would make the power of that ransom felt in this life. Break the bands, snap the chains, and set free from every work of Satan, whether direct or indirect, whether by open assault or subtle influence. Silence the accuser of the brethren, frustrate his devices, and let his mouth be stopped before the blood of the Lamb. Keep this Your child from the power of darkness, guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and remove far from him all that has defiled or would defile, from the past even to the future, according to Your perfect will. Let him not die but live and declare the works of the Lord, and show forth Your praise as one who has been ransomed from the galling yoke and now walks at liberty through the great Liberator, the Lord Jesus. Establish him in faith, that looking only to Calvary he may find all comfort and all victory there. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns and shall forever trample upon every force of evil. Amen.
