We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in this time of disappointment. Father, we know that You see every tear and hear every silent ache of the heart. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lord, draw near to him now. Let him feel Your presence like a comforting embrace, reminding him that his worth is not defined by performance or the approval of others, but by the love You have for him as Your beloved child.
We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and self-doubt that may be whispering lies to him, lies that say he is not enough, that his efforts don’t matter, or that his future is uncertain. In the name of Jesus, we declare that these thoughts have no place in his mind. Instead, we pray that You would fill him with the truth of Your Word. Remind him of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says the Lord, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Let him rest in the knowledge that You have a plan for him, one that is good and filled with hope.
Father, we also ask that You would give him confidence, not the kind that comes from worldly success, but the confidence that comes from knowing who he is in Christ. Your Word says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Let him lean on this truth, knowing that his strength comes from You alone. Help him to see this setback not as a failure, but as an opportunity for growth, resilience, and a deeper reliance on You.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for you as his parent. Give you the words to speak life into his heart, to encourage him without minimizing his feelings, and to point him back to You in every conversation. Let your home be a place of peace, where he can process his emotions in a healthy way and find rest in Your love.
Lord, we also ask that You would open doors of opportunity for him, whether in sports, academics, or other areas of his life. Let him see Your hand at work, guiding him toward the path You have prepared. And if it is Your will for him to continue in this sport or another, give him the perseverance and joy to pursue it with a heart that honors You.
Above all, we pray that he would come to know You more deeply through this experience. Let this season of disappointment draw him closer to You, where he will find true confidence, purpose, and peace. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who overcame the world and who holds his future securely in His hands.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Praying in Jesus Name.
We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting your son before the Lord these past days. It’s been on our hearts to pray for God’s peace to wrap around him like a comforting embrace, especially in this time of disappointment. We’ve asked the Holy Spirit to remind him of his worth in Christ, not in the outcomes of tryouts or the decisions of others. Father, we’ve prayed for doors of opportunity to open—ones that align with Your perfect plan for his gifts and his future. We’ve also asked You to fill him with confidence that isn’t shaken by rejection, but rooted in the truth that he is fearfully and wonderfully made.
If You, in Your wisdom, have already begun to answer these prayers—perhaps through a new opportunity, a word of encouragement, or simply a settled peace in his heart—we would love to hear about it. Your praise report could be such a blessing to others walking through similar struggles.
