We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the One who has already triumphed over the powers of darkness. We stand on the truth of Scripture, which declares, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). The enemy is already defeated, and his schemes are rendered powerless by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11).
First, we rebuke the spirit of fear that may be attempting to grip your heart. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We command every lying spirit that seeks to torment you to flee in the name of Jesus. You are not alone, and you are not without defense. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray a hedge of protection around you, as Job experienced when the Lord set a hedge about him, his house, and all that he had (Job 1:10). We ask the Lord to surround you with His holy angels, who are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). Let the angels of the Lord encamp around you and deliver you, as the psalmist declares, "The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7).
We also pray for spiritual discernment and wisdom, that you may recognize the schemes of the enemy and stand firm in the armor of God. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:11-12). We declare that you are equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17).
We bind every spirit of oppression, torment, and influence that seeks to come against you, whether directly or indirectly through others. The Word of God tells us, "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 18:18). We loose upon you the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, which will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling (Psalm 91:10).
We also address the importance of your thought life, for the enemy seeks to plant seeds of doubt, fear, and deception. We pray that you take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Fill your mind with the truth of God’s Word, meditating on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it (Joshua 1:8). Renew your mind by the washing of the water of the Word, that you may prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 5:26).
We encourage you to walk in the authority that Christ has given you. You have been given power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Stand firm in this truth, and do not allow the enemy to intimidate or deceive you. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world (1 Peter 5:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the victory that is already ours through the cross and resurrection of Your Son. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would surround them with Your divine protection. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. We ask that You set a hedge of protection around them, their home, and all that concerns them, just as You did for Job.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and torment that seeks to come against them. We command these spirits to flee in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We ask that You fill our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we pray for Your holy angels to encamp around them, delivering them from every evil and harm. We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling. We bind every spirit of influence, whether direct or indirect, and loose upon them the fullness of Your Spirit, filling them with Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Father, we ask that You grant them discernment and wisdom to recognize the schemes of the enemy. Help them to stand firm in the armor of God, taking up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. Renew their mind by the washing of the water of Your Word, that they may be transformed and prove what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will.
We thank You, Lord, for the authority You have given us in Christ Jesus. We declare that our brother/sister has power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means hurt them. We resist the devil, and he must flee, for You have already given us the victory.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.
