We understand your struggle, and we commend you for recognizing the need to guard your heart and mind against the distractions and temptations that so easily entangle us through the internet. The enemy is cunning, and he often uses the allure of short, addictive content to draw our attention away from what is pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. The apostle Paul urges us in Philippians 4:8, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things."* This is a call to fill our minds with what aligns with God’s Word rather than the fleeting and often harmful distractions of this world.
The internet can be a tool for good, but it can also be a snare if we are not discerning. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:22-23, *"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!"* What we allow into our minds through our eyes shapes our thoughts, desires, and actions. We must be vigilant, for the devil seeks to deceive and lead us astray through even the smallest openings.
If you find yourself struggling with attraction to these short videos or other ungodly content, it is important to take practical steps to guard yourself. This may include setting boundaries, using accountability software, or even fasting from certain platforms for a season. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:29-30, *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna."* While Jesus speaks hyperbolically, the principle is clear: we must be radical in removing anything that leads us into sin.
We also encourage you to fill your time with the Word of God. Psalm 119:9 asks, *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word."* And Psalm 119:11 adds, *"I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."* The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the more our minds are renewed, and the easier it becomes to discern what is pleasing to God.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your strength and wisdom to overcome the distractions and temptations of the internet. Lord, You know the struggles of their heart, and You alone can deliver them from the snares of the enemy. We ask that You grant them discernment to recognize what is good, pure, and honorable, and what is evil and from the devil. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may have the power to turn away from anything that does not glorify You.
Lord, we pray that You would renew their mind through Your Word, that they may meditate on what is true and lovely. Give them the strength to set boundaries and the wisdom to use the internet in a way that honors You. Break any addiction or stronghold that the enemy has placed in their life, and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Let them find their satisfaction in You alone, not in the fleeting pleasures of this world.
We rebuke the spirit of distraction and temptation in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. Father, let them walk in victory, with their eyes fixed on You, that they may not stumble but grow stronger in their faith each day.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. May they find their refuge in You, and may their heart be steadfast in seeking Your face. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord, and remember that He is with you in this battle. Seek accountability with fellow believers, and do not hesitate to flee from temptation. The Lord will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13), and He will give you the victory through Jesus Christ. Keep pressing forward, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
