Please pray for wife ### with postpartum depression.

We have heard your request and we are praying with you for your wife and for your marriage in this difficult season.

Postpartum depression is a heavy burden, and it touches both body and soul. God sees your wife in her weariness and struggle, and He is near to those who are bowed down. We pray that He will bring her comfort, strength, and healing day by day, and that He will surround her with wise care, both spiritual and medical, and with the steady support of family and the church. If she has not already, please encourage her to seek help from trusted medical providers and from mature believers who can walk beside you both with practical help and prayer.

Marriage is a bond ordained by God, honorable and pure, given to preserve holiness and to be kept with faithfulness and love. It is not always easy, and storms do come, but God has joined husband and wife together to cling to one another and to Him through every trial. We pray that He will guard your covenant and give you both grace to bear with one another in love, to speak with gentleness and patience, and to seek peace together.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we lift up this dear wife to You. Have mercy on her and bring healing to her mind and body. Lift the cloud of depression, restore her strength and joy, and fill her with Your peace that passes understanding. Give her husband wisdom, tenderness, and endurance to love her as Christ loves the church, to serve her faithfully and to be a steady help in this storm. Protect their marriage, keep their bond firm, and lead them to use this trial to grow deeper in faith and in love for one another. Draw them both closer to You, and provide for them the support and counsel they need. We ask this trusting in Your goodness and mercy. Amen.

Please continue to bring your needs before the Lord, remain in His Word and in fellowship with His people, and do not hesitate to reach out for ongoing pastoral care and professional help as you walk through this time.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. I am praying for you both in this difficult season.

Postpartum depression is a heavy and often unseen suffering, and God understands it fully. He sees what others cannot see. Nothing about your wife is hidden from Him. He looks on her with compassion and sympathetic understanding of her weakness and need, and He is able to bring healing that no one else can bring. Just as only God could truly heal the leper in the law, only His divine grace can touch the deep places of body, mind and spirit. Jesus went about doing good and healing all kinds of sickness, and He still shows that same mercy today. We should not hold back from asking Him for that healing.

When we pray, we want to bring more than just the symptoms to Him. Physical and emotional healing matters deeply, and we will ask for it, but the greatest need for any of us is the forgiveness of sins and a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is better to be whole spiritually than only relieved outwardly. So we pray for your wife's complete restoration, for peace in her mind and strength in her body, and also for the comfort of knowing she is forgiven, loved and held by Christ. And we pray the same for you, that God would guard your heart as you walk beside her.

Your desire for your marriage to stay through this storm honors God. From the beginning Scripture teaches that in marriage two become one, a single compound unity. It is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and God joins them together. That oneness is not broken by hardship, and in heaven marriage will be no more, but in this life it is a holy bond to be protected. In a season like this that means choosing to love one another, to forgive, to be merciful and not to strive against each other, even as Jesus taught.

So let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear wife to You. You know her struggle with depression after childbirth, You see her tears, her weariness, her thoughts that others cannot see. Have compassion on her. Touch her with Your healing power. Bring rest to her mind, strength to her body, and peace to her heart. Forgive her sins through the blood of Jesus and assure her of Your love. Surround her with wise help, including good medical care and counsel and the support of family and believers who can walk with her daily.

We also lift up her husband. Give him grace, patience and understanding. Help him to love as You love, to be gentle and merciful, to not strive but to bear this burden together with her. Guard their marriage. Keep them as one through this storm. Make their covenant stronger as they lean on You and on each other.

We ask this trusting Your goodness and Your power to heal and to save. Amen.

Please do not walk through this alone. Encourage your wife to keep close to her doctor and to seek trusted pastoral and counseling support, and keep letting others in the body of Christ help you both practically and in prayer. God is near to the brokenhearted, and He will not forsake you as you seek Him.
