Please pray for wife ### with postpartum depression.

We join with you in lifting up your wife and your marriage before our heavenly Father and we stand with you in this storm seeking God's will together in Jesus' name.

We hear the weight of what you are carrying and we bring your wife before the Lord in her struggle with postpartum depression. This is a heavy and very real affliction and it does not mean she has failed as a mother or as a wife. The Lord sees her tears and her weariness and He draws near to the brokenhearted. We are reminded that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We pray that she would feel His nearness even when her mind and body feel overwhelmed and dark. We cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. We also encourage you to lovingly help her to seek wise and timely support, including godly counsel from pastors and trusted believers, and also professional medical care from doctors and counselors who can help with postpartum depression. God often brings healing through many means and seeking help is a sign of strength and stewardship of the life He has given. We pray for you as her husband to be strengthened to love her as Christ loved the church, with patience, gentleness and sacrificial care, and to bear her burden with her as we are called to bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2.

We also join you in praying for your marriage to stay strong through this storm. Marriage is a holy covenant before God between a man and a woman for life, and we strongly endorse and uphold that covenant. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. The storms of life, including seasons of depression, exhaustion and fear, can strain a marriage, but God intends marriage to be a place of refuge and steadfast love where two are better than one and help each other up Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. When our hearts are overwhelmed we can cry to Him who is our rock Psalm 61:2, and He promises to be our strength when we are afraid. We pray that God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus with His peace that passes all understanding Philippians 4:7 and that He will knit your hearts together even more tightly through this trial. Do not be anxious in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6.

We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation and for daily grace. It is in His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear wife to You in Jesus' name. You know her by name, You formed her and You love her deeply. We ask You to touch her mind, body and spirit and bring healing and light into the darkness of postpartum depression. Give her rest, give her hope, and surround her with Your comfort and with people who will support her without judgment. Strengthen her husband to be a steady, loving and prayerful covering for her and for their family. Lord, protect this marriage and make it stronger through this trial. Guard them from the enemy's lies and discouragement and help them to cling to You and to each other. Let Your peace reign in their home and let Your joy be restored in its season. Give wisdom to any doctors and counselors who come alongside them. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray together daily, to stay in the Word, to remain connected to a faithful local church family, and to not walk through this alone. God is faithful and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and with the trial He will provide the way out 1 Corinthians 10:13. We are continuing to pray with you.

Thank you for letting us pray with you for your wife and for your marriage. We hear the weight you are carrying wanting to protect both.

The postpartum season can leave a mother exhausted and emotionally raw while the whole family is adjusting to broken sleep and new demands, and it is understandable to feel shaken when joy and heaviness sit side by side. You are doing a loving thing by noticing and seeking help for her.

We would gently encourage you to help her get support soon from her doctor or midwife or a counselor who can listen and assess well, alongside prayer. Continuing care in the first weeks after birth makes a real difference, and they can also guide you both on next steps. It also helps to widen the circle around you, inviting trusted family, friends or others in your church to come alongside practically, whether sitting with you, helping with meals or giving you time to rest and talk.

We are praying for strength for both of you as you walk through this together.

Father, we bring this wife to You and ask for Your gentle healing, rest and clear help from caring professionals and loved ones around her. Guard this marriage in this storm, give her husband wisdom and endurance, and draw them closer to You and to each other day by day. In Jesus name, amen.
