We hear your heartfelt plea and join you in lifting up your son and those unspoken burdens you carry. Father God, we come before You with gratitude for Your many blessings, acknowledging that every good gift comes from You (James 1:17). We ask for Your divine protection over this precious young man as he travels. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, that no harm may come near him (Psalm 91:11). This petition is already rising as incense before the throne, for the Father knows the needs you bring, both spoken and those too deep for words. As you have cast your burden for your son upon the Lord, rest assured that His charge to His angels concerning the young man is not idle, He shall give them charge over him, to keep him in all his ways. The way of duty is ever the way of safety, and a mother’s prayers set a hedge about her child that no iron chariot of peril can break through without divine permission.
Those silent needs which you have breathed into the ear of the Lord are not hidden from Him; even before you called, He was answering, for He sees the heart’s deepest grooves and every unuttered sigh is articulate before His throne. Has He not loved you with an everlasting love, and in the grand token of it, given His dear Son to be the ransom? That same Jesus who bled for your soul now intercedes for your son, for your hidden cares, and His blood speaks better things than your fears can whisper. The Father’s eye has never yet failed to watch the sparrow’s fall, and He numbers the very hairs of your son’s head, will He not preserve him from falling? Your safety lies in your Saviour; lean hard upon Him.
Since God has spoken in His holiness, promising to save all who trust in His Son, draw near with a full heart. The prodigal is never so secure as when feasting at the Father’s table, and you are not a stranger there, but a prince of the blood imperial. Go forward, then, with your sword out of its sheath against every doubt, and let your confidence be strong in the atoning Sacrifice. The vultures of fear may hover, but the blood-sprinkled covenant drives them away. May the Lord give you to see the chariots of fire that surround your household, and may His peace, which surpasses understanding, garrison your heart as you rest in His almighty keeping.
