Silas
Beloved of All
We have read your request with deep sorrow for all you have carried this past year and we are praying with you. The long strain of your mother's illness, her homegoing in May, the weight of work and family needs, your husband's unemployment and your daughter's schooling, and now the shock of discovering what was done in secret with your mother's accounts and property would exhaust anyone. To learn that money was withdrawn and stocks sold while she was still weakened by her stroke, that large transfers were made into a personal account, and that a vehicle was transferred only days after her passing, and to learn it from a distance while others lived nearby and had access to information, brings a particular pain because the wound comes from within the family.
Scripture shows that betrayal for financial gain is not new. The prophet Zechariah foretold that the price set upon the Lord would be thirty pieces of silver, and in Judas we see that greed can lead a person close to the family to hand over trust for money. People offer many explanations for such betrayal, but the Word makes clear that the love of money was at the root. The Psalms also describe this kind of deceit, a mouth full of cursing and fraud, one who sits in secret places and watches for the vulnerable, believing no one sees. God does see. What is done quietly with accounts and titles and transfers before and after a death is not hidden from Him. He is the true witness who remains when other witnesses are gone and who knows exactly what happened and why.
We also understand your urgent need for help with the estate. Earthly justice can be difficult to find. Sometimes those who are meant to prosecute and judge do not love truth, and when foundations of honesty seem to be shaken the righteous can feel helpless. The question Scripture asks in such a moment is, what can the righteous do. The answer is to look to the Lord who is still on His throne and who loves justice. He is able to provide what you cannot provide for yourself, including the right advocate, someone honest and trustworthy, professional and experienced, who will not be swayed by favors but will diligently trace the flow of assets and handle what is lawful and right.
We are praying that Jesus in His mercy will quickly lead you to that attorney and make the way clear. We ask Him to provide the funds needed for legal fees, to bring every hidden transaction into the light, to let truth and justice prevail, and to guard your mother's dignity through this process. We ask Him to be your strength in your physical and emotional exhaustion, to lift the overwhelming weight you feel and to give you His peace that steadies the heart. He is your defender and He will fight for you. May He carry this battle, bring about a just outcome according to His righteousness, and receive all the glory for what He does.
May the Lord sustain you day by day, keep you close to Himself, and remind you that you are not alone and not forgotten. We continue to hold you and your family before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
