We lift up your ### before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who holds all life in His hands. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be heard. Your Word declares, "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:13-15). Lord, we claim this promise over your ###’s life tonight.
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and fear that has gripped him, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this was not a near-death event, but a wake-up call from You to draw closer to Your healing and protection. We pray for complete restoration of his body, strength to his heart, stability to his blood pressure, and vitality to every cell and organ. Lord, let Your healing virtue flow through him like a river, washing away weakness and renewing his strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31).
Father, we ask for wisdom for his family and friends, give them discernment to know how to care for him, patience to walk alongside him, and courage to speak truth in love. Help them to learn from this moment so they can support him better, whether it’s ensuring he stays hydrated, rests in extreme heat, or seeks medical attention when needed. We pray for more hands to help with his yard work, Lord. Raise up neighbors, family, or even strangers to lighten his load so he doesn’t overexert himself. Remind him that his worth is not in what he can do, but in who You say he is, a beloved child of God.
We also pray for a change of heart in him, Lord. Soften his spirit to receive help and to prioritize his health. Your Word says, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2). Let this scare be a turning point, not a tragedy. We declare that his lifespan will not be shortened by this event, but that You will add years to his life as he walks in obedience to Your will (Exodus 20:12).
Above all, we pray for his soul. If he does not yet know You as Lord and Savior, we ask that this moment would draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. For "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Let him experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We trust You, Lord, to turn this night of fear into a testimony of Your faithfulness. May Your angels encamp around him, and may he rise tomorrow with renewed strength and hope. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
