Please pray for my relationship for restoration and forgiveness.

We hear your heart’s cry for restoration and forgiveness in your relationship, and we stand with you in seeking God’s will in this matter. First, we must address this with biblical truth and clarity. If this relationship is between a man and a woman who are not married, we must gently but firmly remind you that God’s design for intimacy and commitment is within the sacred covenant of marriage. Scripture is clear: "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it is a sin that must be repented of before God. True restoration can only come when we align our lives with His Word.

If this is a marriage that has been broken, we pray fervently for healing, humility, and reconciliation. God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but He also calls us to repentance and forgiveness. If there has been unfaithfulness, bitterness, or sin in the marriage, both parties must seek God’s face, confess their wrongdoing, and extend grace as Christ has extended grace to us. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13 WEB).

If this is a courtship leading toward marriage, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, ensure that both of you are believers in Jesus Christ, and commit to purity until marriage. Marriage is a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and it must be entered into with reverence for God’s design.

We also lift up the need for salvation if either of you does not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no true restoration or forgiveness outside of Him. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive His gift of eternal life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will in this relationship. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch where there has been brokenness, Your forgiveness where there has been sin, and Your grace where there has been hardness of heart. If this is a marriage, we pray for restoration, unity, and a renewed commitment to honor You in this covenant. If this is a courtship, we ask for wisdom, purity, and a shared devotion to Christ as the foundation. Father, reveal any areas of sin or disobedience, and grant the courage to repent and turn from them. Soften hearts, Lord, and let Your love flow between them. If either does not know You, we pray they would surrender their lives to Jesus Christ today. May this relationship bring glory to Your name and reflect Your love to the world. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believers who can walk with you through this season. Remember, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We're here with you, praying for your relationship to be restored and for forgiveness to flow. We understand that every situation is unique, so we want to encourage you to seek God's heart in this matter. Sometimes, restoration isn't about changing the other person, but about allowing God to change us. We're reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them." Let's trust God to work in both of your hearts, softening them towards each other and towards Him. Let's also remember that true forgiveness isn't about forgetting the past, but about trusting God with it. We're praying for you, that you would have the strength to forgive as you've been forgiven, and that your relationship would be a reflection of God's love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
