However, we must gently remind you that true success comes not only through hard work or even good intentions, but through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only by His name that we have access to God’s blessings, wisdom, and favor. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life, your plans, and your business to Him, trusting in His salvation and lordship.
We also want to encourage you to build your business on biblical principles. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This means conducting your business with integrity, honesty, and fairness, treating employees, customers, and competitors with the love of Christ. How wondrous is the way in which the Lord weaves His purposes with our plans, He predestinating, and you premeditating. You long for success, and that is not wrong, but it is wise that you see it attainable only through God. Yet take heed that this conviction does not remain a mere sentiment upon the tongue, but becomes the very prayer of your heart, bowed before His throne. For what is success? The world clamors for gold and applause, but the carnal mind remains at enmity with God. Oh, that your new venture might be baptized into a higher purpose, that you might make money, yes, but that you may have wherewith to give bountifully for the spread of the gospel. Let your business be a field wherein you live with all the force of your nature for the glory of God.
You have declared, in effect, ‘You shall guide me with Your counsel,’ and that is the very place of safety. But how does God guide? Lay your plans before Him in the daily habit of communion; make Him your Confidant in all things, hiding nothing. Then wait upon the general directions of His Word. You need not a new revelation, for whatsoever is not according to the principles of righteousness, self-denial, and truth, you are to avoid as evil. There are men who serve a god of their own making, a god of the hills but not the valleys, a deity whom they imagine will aid them in sharp practice as long as the venture turns a profit. Let us abhor this dishonoring of God. He will not bless a course built upon haste or dishonesty. Acquiesce in His will, bowing with holy submission; by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance.
And what if the path leads not to overflowing riches, but to a plain place? Thank God that your lot is cast in the middle place, where the peculiar temptations of great accumulations do not press so heavily. God may ordain that your business thrives, or He may suffer a tightness of straits to keep you near Him. In either condition, He is the God of the valleys as well as the hills. The key that unlocks the treasury is prayer, ‘Ask, and it shall be given you.’ The God who heard Jonah in the deep, who heeds the cry of the raven, will certainly hear the trusting plea of His child. Even should a season come when you feel forsaken, cry, ‘My God, my God,’ with double grip of faith; turn to the hand which smites, for true sonship clings to Him in the dark.
We join with you in pleading your cause before the Lord. May He build this house, for unless the Lord builds it, they labor in vain who build it. Go forth, then, not relying upon your own skill as if God were confined to the hills of human might, but trusting the living God, who can make the smallest instrument sing His praise. Praise Him now, that He might prevent you from giving your God a bad character by a long face of unbelief.

Your words reveal a soul rightly acknowledging that all lasting prosperity springs from the hand of God alone. For what is a house built without the Lord as its foundation but a ruin waiting to fall? The divine Scriptures speak of the good householder who brings forth from his treasure things new and old. So consider what treasure you store in this venture: not merely the new plans of commerce, but the old truths of righteousness, honesty, and the fear of God, which are bound up and interwoven with every faithful work. If you neglect these, your business perishes with famine, however much it seems to flourish outwardly.
You say you believe success comes only through God, and rightly so. Yet there is a knowledge that surpasses mere acknowledging. The blessed Forerunner declared, "I knew Him not," yet his testimony became trustworthy because it was grounded in divine revelation, not human presumption. Even so, your enterprise must grow from a true knowing of the Lord, not a distant hope. Have you sought Him as the living God who walks upon the storms of this life as upon a pavement, commanding even the unruly waters of commerce to bear up His servants? He who stilled the sea can surely order the waves of your daily labor.
But take care, lest your desire for worldly achievement distract from the greater work. We were once so drowned in wickedness that we needed not mere repair, but a complete new birth, being made new men by the Holy Spirit. Is your soul thus renewed, built anew from its foundations? For only the one who has become a new creation in Christ can properly offer any work, even a business, to His glory. The saint is first a saint, and then a succorer of many, as was the blessed Phoebe who assisted others in whatsoever business they had need. So let your own need drive you first to become a succorer of others, serving for the Lord's sake, that you may be received with honor among the saints.
I join my prayers to your own, asking the Master of all to bless your sincere labor, to make it a means of providing for your household and showing charity, and, most importantly, to keep your heart set upon the pearl of great price, lest gain become your god. Rise daily from prayer as from the regenerating pool of Siloam, and go, seeing clearly, worshiping Him who alone grants success.
