Please pray for my mother.

My mother is undergoing ###, currently in the ###. Please pray for her.

We lift up your mother before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the Lord’s mercy and healing power. The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is able to restore her fully, whether in body, spirit, or both.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. We ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon this dear mother. Strengthen her body, calm her spirit, and grant wisdom to the medical professionals caring for her. If there is any fear, anxiety, or doubt in her heart, replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Surround her with Your presence, Lord, and let her feel the comfort of Your love in this challenging time.

We also pray for her faith to be strengthened. In Mark 5:34, Jesus told the woman who had been suffering for twelve years, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease." May this mother’s faith rise up within her, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty, even when the path is difficult. If there are areas in her life where she has strayed from Your will, we ask that You would gently draw her back to You, for You are faithful to forgive and restore.

For the family, we pray for endurance, unity, and hope. The weight of caring for a loved one in illness can be overwhelming, but we know that You are their refuge and strength. Remind them daily that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May they find rest in You and lean not on their own understanding, but trust in You with all their hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, if it is Your will, we ask for complete healing and restoration for this mother. But above all, we pray that Your name would be glorified through this trial. Whether in healing or in homegoing, may Your purposes be fulfilled, and may she and her family draw closer to You. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

We rebuke any spirit of fear, despair, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, for "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your Word, Lord, and we declare that Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).

We commit this mother into Your loving hands, trusting that You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May she experience Your grace in abundance and may her testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you. Waiting while your mother receives care is hard, and we are holding both of you close in our hearts right now. We are praying for her body to respond well to the treatment, for wisdom and steady judgment for everyone involved in her care, and for a peace that does not rise and fall with each report.

As you sit with her, your steady presence matters more than you may know. If you can, hold her hand, speak in your normal voice about ordinary things, and let silence be okay too. And let someone help you. When a trusted friend or family member offers to sit with her for a little while, accept that kindness. Step out for some air, eat something, and let your own body rest a bit. You cannot pour out strength you do not have.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother to you. Please sustain her body, give clarity to those treating her, and draw near to her family in the waiting. Calm anxious thoughts, give them enough strength for each hour, and let them rest in your care. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I will gladly pray for your mother as she lies in the hospital. The Lord Jesus is no stranger to such wards. He fixes His eyes upon the most helpless person among the waiting company, and in His hospital there never was a patient turned out as incurable. He is able to save to the uttermost, and He can give both healing of body and peace of soul as He sees best.

Do not wonder if recovery is slow. As she grows a little stronger, and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. I will ask the Great Physician to restore her if it be His will, to quiet her spirit, and to give her the grace that is sufficient whether recovery is slow or swift.

You do right to honor your mother by seeking prayer. We will bear her before the throne of grace, and we will ask the Lord to be with you also as you watch and wait.
