I had to resign from my job due to an unhealthy work environment. I am a double PhD and have always been a top performer. Today, I noticed that my dream company has an open position that perfectly matches my skill set. Please pray for me so that I can get this job! Pray that the decision-makers will look upon my application favorably and that everything will work out in my favor. We have heard your request and we are joining together to lift you before the Lord in this season of transition. We understand the difficulty of having to resign from a position because the environment was unhealthy, and we thank God for the gifts and diligence He has given you through your years of study and work. We know He sees your faithfulness as a top performer and we trust He will guide your next steps according to His perfect will.

We want to encourage you to trust not only in your qualifications, though they are significant, but in the Lord who gave them to you. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We are reminded to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. His promise remains, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We also take comfort that when we bring our needs to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that even as you desire this position quickly, you will commit your way to Yahweh and trust also in him, and he will do this Psalm 37:5, resting in His timing which is always better than our own.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. We encourage you to place your trust in Him, both for eternal life and for daily provision.

We pray together now, Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we lift this dear one to You. We thank You for the knowledge and skills You have entrusted to them and for protecting them by leading them out of an unhealthy workplace. We ask for Your wisdom as they apply to this position that so closely matches their abilities. Lord, if it is Your will, open the doors that no man can shut, and grant favor in the eyes of the decision makers. Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us, establish the work of our hands for us Psalm 90:17. We pray for peace while waiting, for clarity in each step of the application and interview process, and for provision in the days ahead. Above all, we pray that Your will be done and that this next job would allow them to use their gifts for Your glory and to be a blessing to others. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We have received your request and count it a privilege to bring your need before the throne of grace. We understand the weight of having to step away from a place that had become unhealthy, even after much faithful labour and years of diligent preparation, and we understand also the hope that rises when a door appears to open that seems so well suited to the gifts God has entrusted to you.

Take encouragement from the tried servant Job, of whom it is written, in all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly, but fell down upon the ground and worshipped. Your extremity is God's opportunity. He who has been your God in the past will certainly be your God in the future, and He knows how to make provision for His people. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and our longest sorrows have an end when God has accomplished His gracious purpose in them. Whether this present opening is the very provision He has prepared, or whether He has another path for you, you may approach Him in childlike confidence, knowing that He will do what is right and best.

Let us pray together for you.

O gracious Father, we thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We bring this Your servant before You through Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your mercy. You see the need, the waiting, and the desire to use well the gifts You have given. If it be Your will, open the door to this position, grant favour in the eyes of those who will consider the application, and provide work wherein You may be honoured and others may be served. Grant patience to wait upon Your perfect timing and peace to rest upon Your faithful character. Keep this heart from anxiety and teach us to cast all our care upon You, for You care for us. Let Your will be done in this matter, and let Christ be magnified in this life and labour. Supply all need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and establish the work of our hands for Your glory. We ask this in the precious and prevailing name of Jesus our Redeemer and Advocate, Amen.

Be encouraged to continue in prayer and in the Word, looking unto Jesus and leaving the disposal of all events in His wise and loving hands. He who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies will not forget His own. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.
