My daughter has just had acl surgery and will have to sit out of soccer for almost for a year. Soccer is her life her friends. Please pray for her comfort, companionship, and growth as she walks through this her sophomore year. Please pray she can find a good solid group of friends this year in high school. She has really struggled on and off. She is amazing and has so much to offer as a friend. Pray for her healing from past hard struggles so she can trust in a healthy friendship again: Thank you Jesusnfor your love and care in her life in Jesus name amen

We lift your daughter before the Lord with heavy and hopeful hearts, knowing that this season of recovery will stretch far beyond her physical healing. Father, we ask You to be her comfort in the loneliness of the sidelines, her strength when the days feel long, and her joy when the world around her keeps running. Soccer has been her rhythm, her identity, her community, now she must learn to trust You in the stillness. Lord, teach her that her worth is not in her performance, but in being Your beloved child, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We pray for companionship that is pure and uplifting, friendships that reflect Your love and truth. Surround her with peers who will encourage her faith, speak life into her heart, and walk beside her in both laughter and tears. Guard her from isolation and from those who might draw her into unhealthy patterns. Help her to see that this season is not a punishment, but a preparation, an opportunity to grow in patience, resilience, and dependence on You (James 1:2-4).

We also lift up her past struggles, Lord. Heal the wounds that have made trust difficult. Where she has been hurt or betrayed, bring Your restoration. Where she has carried shame or insecurity, replace it with Your peace. Let this time of waiting become a time of renewal, where she learns to build relationships on Your foundation, not on the shifting sands of popularity or performance. May she find security in Your unchanging love (Jeremiah 31:3).

And Lord, we ask for complete healing in her knee. Strengthen the muscles, restore the ligaments, and guide her physical therapy with wisdom and precision. Give her the discipline to follow her recovery plan, and the grace to accept help when she needs it. May her body mend fully, and may she return to the field, if it is Your will, stronger in body, mind, and spirit.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, the Friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). May Your presence be so real to her that she never feels alone, even in the quiet moments. And may this season draw her closer to You, the One who knows her completely and loves her unconditionally. Amen.

We’re so sorry your daughter is facing this surgery and such a long break from soccer, when a sport holds so many of her friendships and so much of her identity, stepping away is a genuine loss. It’s completely normal for her to feel shaken, lonely, or even a little lost. The good news is that her worth and her ability to connect with others aren’t tied to the field. The qualities you describe in her, that she’s amazing and has so much to offer as a friend, are still there, ready to be shared in new spaces.

This season, as hard as it is, could become a time for her to discover other sides of herself. Without the travel and fatigue of competitive sports, she might have space to join a club, volunteer somewhere she cares about, or simply linger longer with people she might otherwise have missed. Friendships often grow when we’re simply near each other over time, taking small risks to let people in. If past hurts have made trust harder, it’s okay to move slowly; safety doesn’t mean shutting everyone out, just learning to listen to what feels right in her heart.

We’re praying that God brings her a few steady, kind companions who see her for who she really is. We’re also asking for a gentle healing of the old wounds that whisper she can’t rely on anyone. Jesus walked through lonely valleys too, and He stays near to the brokenhearted.

Please pray with us:

Jesus, hold this daughter close as she rests and heals. Wrap her in Your comfort when the ache of missing her sport and her teammates hits hard. Surprise her with friendships that are real and good, and give her courage to open up again, inch by inch. Heal the memories that have made trust feel dangerous, and remind her she is never alone. In Your name, amen.

It is a painful thing to be laid aside from that which has been as life itself to the heart, and to find the busy sphere of action suddenly become a place of enforced stillness. The game that brought joy, the companions that shared the field, these are, for a season, withdrawn. Yet let us mark this: the loneliness of the Christian, when they come into deep soul-conflict or bodily affliction, is a portion of the Savior’s own cup. He, too, was left alone just when, as Man, He most needed human sympathy. If the Lord permits this solitude to enter your daughter’s life, it is not in wrath but in wise love, that she might learn where true friendship is found.

Soccer has been her delight, but a greater delight waits to be discovered. Her trust must not be placed in restored ligaments alone, for the Physician of souls stands ready. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Let her now trust Him for this very thing. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He spoke pardon and strength in one breath. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. Let her bring every past struggle, every wound from broken trusts, to Him whose hands were pierced. He that believes in Him, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and a living trust will bring peace to her spirit far deeper than any athletic triumph.

Waste no time in fretting over the slow recovery, for the Lord promises strength and He will faithfully perform it. Wonder not if recovery should be slow; as she grows a little stronger, let her acknowledge that the Lord has a new claim on her affection each day. And while she waits, let her seek the company of those who fear God. Friendship with Christ is a reciprocal thing, He reveals Himself to His people, and they tell out their hearts to Him. But obedience is essential to that friendship. She must not set her will stubbornly against His clear commands, placing hours of idle talk or worldly mirth above communion with her Savior. The companionship she craves will be given in God’s time, as she trusts and follows closely.

May she experience now that the healing power of the Gospel is power to forgive sin and restore the soul. Trust Him, and she shall not be confounded. Before long, if she trusts Jesus, she shall know His love.

Father, we lift her up to You. Comfort her during this long season of recovery from surgery, and surround her with loyal, kind friends who see how amazing she truly is. Heal her heart from past hurts and help her trust again in healthy friendships. Let this year become a time of growth, strength, and new connections.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your daughter’s present suffering is not a small thing, but it is a place where Christ’s comfort can abound far more than the pain itself. When the body is laid low and the usual delights of youth are taken away, the soul has a rare moment to be still and to hear what the Lord would say. Let her not despise this season, for the withdrawing of soccer can become the school of a more enduring friendship. Athletic fields and teammates scatter, but a friend formed in godliness “remaineth continually, enduring every change.” Pray that she seeks companions not merely for the table of shared interests, but for virtue’s sake. Such friends will not vanish when the crutches are gone and the game is out of reach.

Comfort her with this: that the same God who permits this trial is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforteth us in all affliction so that we in turn may comfort others. Her very weakness can become a magnet for genuine souls if she learns to speak of her hope and her hidden struggles with a pure conscience. That conscience is a wellspring of courage, far greater than any trophy. Let her not trust again too hastily out of loneliness, for hasty friendships made from common pastimes often “lead away to hell”; but rather let her wait upon the Lord, who can raise up a “brother aided by brother,” a solid group rooted in the things of Christ.

As for her past hurts, commit them into the hand of Him who keeps all treasures. In His own time, He restores what has been devoured by betrayal, and He gives recompense for wounds that we think are wasted. Encourage her that her present endurance is not empty; it worketh patience, and patience can become a witness to others. In a school where many chase the wind, a young woman who walks with quiet trust through pain is a living proof of a comfort not of this world. Let her therefore glory not in human strength but in the grace that sustains her, and she will find that the season of struggle is also the season of fresh crowns.

The weight of what your daughter is facing is real, and the Lord sees it. In times like this, it can feel like a kind of lostness, a season suddenly stripped of the thing that seemed to hold so much of her life together. But Jesus said He came to seek and to save that which is lost. And when the lost is found, the natural response is rejoicing. Your daughter is not lost to Him. He is already at work in this forced rest, pursuing her heart and preparing true companionship that she hasn’t yet discovered. There will be joy again, the kind that comes not from a sport or a social circle, but from finding His purpose in a hard place.

We have a great high priest who is not unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but was tempted in every way we are, yet without sin. This means Jesus understands the disappointment, the loneliness, and the ache of watching others go on while you sit out. He invites us, and your daughter right now, to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. So I will pray not only for her physical healing, but that she learns to bring her heart to Him honestly, every fear about lost friendships, every memory of past relational hurt that makes trust feel impossible. He is the one who heals the broken places, and there is no wound He cannot bind up.

You mentioned growth, and that is exactly what this year can become, though not through chasing emotional highs or waiting to feel better. Spiritual strength is built on the Word of God, not on passing experiences. Encourage her to feed on Scripture in the quiet hours she now has, to discover that her identity is rooted in being Christ’s own, not in being a soccer player. That’s where real confidence to offer friendship to others will grow, from knowing she is fully accepted by Him. And as she heals, she can be a quiet witness at school, a young woman who doesn’t complain or tear others down, but simply lives in a way that blesses those around her. That kind of life is a credit to any community.

Trust is easy when life unfolds the way we think it should. But real trust begins when God’s hand moves in ways we don’t understand. It’s saying, “Lord, I know You are at work. I don’t see it yet, but I trust You.” This surgery and a year away from the game she loves feels like a setback, but it may be the setup for something far deeper than a recovered knee. The One who vouches for her is in heaven. Her witness is on high, even when she can’t feel it. I’m joining you in praying that she finds solid, healthy friends who see her for who she is, not for what she does, and that she experiences the joy of being truly found and carried close by the Good Shepherd who never lets go.
