Please pray for my career

Your heartfelt request has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving for the hope and diligence He has placed in your heart.

I pray that God in His providence, who upholds all things and cares for each person according to what is for their profit, will guide every step of this process. If this position as Director of Process Development is the path He has prepared for you, may He open the door that no one can shut, cause your application to reach the right people, and give the decision makers wisdom and openness as they consider your experience, dedication and leadership. May He remove every unnecessary obstacle and make clear the way that He intends for you, even as He directs others to the places He intends for them.

At the same time I encourage you not to judge His providence only by what is seen in the present moment. As we wait, we are called not to be torpid in our course but to labor faithfully for a little while, trusting that God is working for our true good and for His glory, both now and in the life to come. Whether this door opens or He leads you elsewhere, continue to sing His praises, to remain cheerful in His grace, and to offer your knowledge and work for the service of people and for good.

I pray most of all that whatever opportunity He gives you will be used not only for your own provision but to serve others faithfully, to contribute what is good and useful, and to win that imperishable crown which comes by His grace and love toward us in Jesus Christ.

May the Lord grant you peace as you wait, wisdom to discern His will, and confidence that nothing that is truly meant for you in His perfect plan will pass you by. I will continue to keep you in prayer.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for inviting prayer in this season of waiting and hope. Searching for work for a month can feel long, and it is understandable that this opportunity feels so precious after you have prayed and dreamed about it. Your desire to use your knowledge and leadership not just for your own success but to serve people and contribute in a meaningful way is a good and right desire before the Lord.

There is comfort in remembering the story of Job. Behind what Job could see, there was a conversation in heaven that he knew nothing about. God knew Job and testified to his character, and even when great loss and confusion came, God was still at work for a purpose Job could not yet understand. Job cried out honestly from his pain and confusion, asking why he was even born and trying to make sense of God's ways. Those cries were real and heartfelt, but they were the words of a man with limited understanding, not the final truth about God. What we learn is that God is often working most deeply even when it feels as though He has stepped away, and He uses those hard seasons for our benefit to bring us to the end of our own strength so that we learn to rely fully on Him.

That helps us understand how to pray. The purpose of prayer is not to make sure our own wishes happen, but to align our hearts with what God knows is best. You prayed this so beautifully when you said if this is His will. That is truly the wisest prayer anyone can pray, Father, Your will be done in my life. God sees your experience, your dedication and your heart far more clearly than any hiring manager ever could, and He also sees what you cannot see about the future, about this role, and about the paths that are best for you and for others.

So we will pray with you that God will guide every step. We ask that if this door is the one He has prepared for you, He will make that clear and remove what needs to be removed, and that your application will be seen with fairness and openness. We also pray that if He has another path for you, He will make that clear too, and give you peace to trust Him, knowing that nothing that is truly meant for you in His plan will pass you by. We pray that your competitors also will be led to the places God has for them, and that God will be honored in how all of this unfolds.

Above all, we pray that in this waiting you will grow in what Scripture calls true wisdom, which is reverence for the Lord and turning away from evil, trusting His character more than any single outcome. Whether He opens this door or leads you elsewhere, He is able to use your life to shine His goodness and to serve others. May He give you steady hope, quiet confidence that He has not forgotten you, and a heart that rests in His will, even as you continue to hope and to do your part diligently.

We are standing with you in prayer, asking God to lead you clearly, to provide for you, and to use your gifts for His glory in whatever place He sets you.
