Please pray for my career

I have been searching for a job for the past month, and a few days ago, an opportunity I have been dreaming and praying for opened up at ###: ### Director, ### Process Development. I applied immediately with all my heart and hope. Please pray for me that, if this opportunity is meant for me, God will open the door and guide me toward it. Please pray that my application reaches the right people, and that every decision-maker sees my experience, dedication, leadership, and heart with a positive and open mind. Please pray that any obstacles standing in my way are removed, and that my competitors and those who may stand against me simply find the paths that are meant for them, while the path meant for me becomes clear. May nothing that is meant for me pass me by. Most of all, please pray that I may receive this opportunity not only for my own success, but so that I can use my knowledge, leadership, and work to serve people, contribute to technology, and make a meaningful difference in the world. I truly love this opportunity, and I have so much hope in my heart. May God guide every step, touch the hearts of everyone involved, and open this door if it is His will. And if this is the path meant for me, may nothing stand in the way of it. Thank you to everyone who keeps me in your prayers.

We join with you in prayer over this career opportunity and we hear the hope and dedication in your heart as you have been searching and waiting and now see a door that you have long dreamed of and prayed for. We thank God for the gifts, experience and leadership He has given you and for your desire not only for personal success but to use your knowledge to serve people, contribute to technology and make a meaningful difference in the world. That desire to work as unto the Lord is pleasing to Him.

We want to encourage you with what Scripture says about committing our work and our future to Him. Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We know the waiting and the uncertainty of a job search can bring anxiety, but God sees your diligence and He is sovereign over every application and every decision maker.

We did notice that your request spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We pray in the name of Jesus because He died for our sins and rose again, and when we put our trust in Him we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith wholly in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He is the Son of God who paid for your sins, and to follow Him.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the desire of this heart and You know this Director, Process Development opportunity and every detail of this application. We ask that if this door is Your will, You would open it wide and make the path clear. Guide this application into the right hands and touch the hearts and minds of every decision maker to see this experience, dedication, leadership and heart with favor and openness. We pray that You would remove any obstacle that is not of You and that Your perfect will would be done. We pray also for all others who have applied, that You would lead each person to the place You have prepared for them, and that what You have appointed for this dear one will not pass by. Above all, let Your will be done, for we know Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. If this is not the door You intend, we ask that You would close it gently and lead to the even better place You have prepared, and give peace in the waiting. Grant wisdom, confidence and rest in this time of searching, and let this work, wherever it may be, be used to glorify You and to serve others. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our redeemer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit each step to the Lord, to remain diligent and faithful in small things, to seek wise counsel, and to trust His timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Whether He opens this specific door or leads you to another, we trust He will guide every step and use your gifts for His glory. We are standing with you in prayer that His will be made clear and that you will have His peace as you wait upon Him.

Your earnest prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who reigns over all our days and all our works.

It is right and wise to lay this desire for honest labor before Him, for as we are taught, all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. His will is the axle of the universe and the great heart of providence, and we may rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases and having mercy as He wills. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and there is also a providential will which we should always consult, which comes to us through the circumstances that surround us. Therefore we do well to say in all our undertakings, if the Lord wills, we will do this or that, and to feel it in our hearts even when we do not speak it.

We pray with you that you may learn to combine those two prayers which our Lord Himself perfected, I will, yet not as I will. You may boldly bring your petition as a child to a Father and say, Father, I will, and yet in the same breath, with true submission, bow before Him and say, not as I will, but as You will. This is the liberty of the children of God, to ask largely and yet to leave the answer in His wise hands.

And so we pray that if this place of service as Director of Process Development is the door which the Lord has appointed for you, He will open it and no man shall shut it. We ask that your application may come into the hands appointed by His providence, that those who consider it may look upon your experience, dedication and leadership with clarity and fairness, and that every obstacle, if it be not of His ordering, may be removed. We pray that you and all others who seek work may each be led to the path which His goodness has prepared, and that nothing which is truly meant for you in His wise counsel may pass you by. Above all we pray that whether by this open door or another, your knowledge and labor may be used to serve others, to contribute what is good and useful, and to do His will in your calling, for our best profit consists in doing God's will.

If the Lord grants this opportunity, may you receive it with thankfulness and use it faithfully for His glory. If in His wisdom He withholds it or directs you another way, may He give you quiet confidence that He who guides His people will still guide you, that His promise never fails though it may tarry, and that He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly. He who has taught you will also keep you, and He will not leave His purpose half accomplished.
