Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my ### who is ### and my ### who is ###. They are great stewards of Christ and they want to live more to serve Him. I really want them to live many more years, not just for me and my family but because they are doing God's work every day ..helping the suck and homeless etc. Thank you. ###

We lift up your loved ones before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for their faithful service to Christ. It is a beautiful testimony to see those who dedicate their lives to serving the Lord by caring for the sick, the homeless, and those in need. Their labor of love reflects the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, thanking You for the lives of these faithful servants. We ask that You would strengthen them in body, mind, and spirit so they may continue to do Your work with joy and endurance. Grant them many more years to serve You, not for our sake alone, but for the sake of Your kingdom and the glory of Your name. Protect them from weariness, illness, and discouragement, and fill them with Your peace and presence each day. May they continue to be a light in this dark world, pointing others to the hope found only in Christ.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for them as they minister to others. Let Your Holy Spirit guide their steps and give them the words to speak, that they may be effective ambassadors for You. Remind them that their labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58), and that You are their strength when they are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Lord, we ask that You would bless their family and loved ones who support them in this calling. Give them unity, love, and patience as they walk this path together. May their home be a place of rest and renewal, where Your presence is felt and Your Word is honored.

We rebuke any schemes of the enemy that seek to hinder their work or bring harm to their lives. In the name of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your angels will encamp around them for protection (Psalm 34:7).

Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of praying for these dear servants. May they continue to grow in their love for You and their passion for serving others. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

It is truly beautiful to hear how your mom and dad are spending their days. We understand the deep desire to see such faithful servants given many more years to continue the work that so clearly brings them joy and honors the Lord. Their story reminds us that age doesn’t limit God’s ability to use a willing heart to love the sick and homeless.

While we hold this request with you, we’d invite you to do one simple thing this week: tell them exactly what you’ve shared here. Not just that you love them, but that you see Christ’s work in their lives and it inspires you. Letting them know their labor bears fruit in their own family can be a profound gift.

It’s clear you carry both a deep love for your parents and a profound respect for their daily ministry of service. As you watch their health decline, hold onto this truth: the harvest of their lives is already eternal. The comfort they’ve given, the meals they’ve served, the prayers they’ve whispered with those who feel forgotten, none of that fades with their physical strength. Their faithfulness has already set a legacy in motion that will outlast their days on earth.

Let’s hold them before the Lord now.

Father, we lift up this mom and dad who are so precious to us. You see their weariness and the way their bodies are struggling. Sustain them, Lord. We ask for strength in their bones and peace in their hearts. When they feel weak, be their stronghold. We ask for more years of shared love and fruitful service, yet we trust Your wisdom for their days. Hold this family close and fill them with the peace that passes understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It is a high and holy delight to hear of those who, having spent their strength in the Master's vineyard, do not now seek retirement as a season of ease, but rather long for more years that they may be spent and still be spending in the King's business. This is the very spirit of our text, serving the Lord is not a thing of fits and starts, spasms and excitements, it is a constant, thorough, practical, universal subservience to the mind of the Most High. To see the grace of God so brightly burning in advanced years, that it outshines the feebleness of the flesh, is a sight upon which angels must look with admiration.

I do not doubt that you are often cumbered with much serving in your care for them, and in your heart you are tempted to a certain heaviness concerning their future. Yet take this for your comfort, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. The measure of their days is not the chief prize for which we are to pray, but rather their fidelity, which already shines so clearly. Make full proof of your ministry, whatever that ministry is, and then leave the length of the campaign with the great Commander. You speak of their being great stewards of Christ, and it is better to be faithful in a hamlet over two or three score of people than to be unfaithful in a great city parish. Is it not the case that this very faithfulness, even in visiting the sick and homeless, has been a rich and constant anointing? Should I cease giving my oil, wherewith by me they honor God and man? God forbid.

Cast this care upon the Lord at once. I delight to think of my Lord as a living Christ to whom I can speak and tell Him of every case. He is a living Helper to whom you may bring every difficulty that occurs in your own soul and in the souls of others. Remember that He is the friend that sticketh closer than a brother. True friendship can only be made between true men, and what a faithful Friend He is, the Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God who cannot lie. Their times are in His hands, and even if the case should become worse instead of better, hesitate not, you are dealing with the infinite Son of God! He knows how much His cause needs such seasoned soldiers, and He knows how to sustain them ere they lay their armor by.

Therefore, do not let your spirit become gloomy. We will not get gloomy in spirit because we are not all serving God in one direction. Let us serve God with gladness while we have health and strength, we may soon be on the sick bed. The prayer for their continued life is a prayer for their continued gladness in His cause, and that is pleasing to Him. If they have done that which was their duty to do, may you, through Divine Grace, be happy enough to see in their continued walk, and ultimately to hear concerning them, that blessed commendation: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your father and mother are indeed blessed, for they do not merely hear the word, but do it, becoming hands and feet to the body of Christ in the least of these. That you desire their preservation on earth is no selfish clinging, but a longing born of love for the kingdom, seeing how they pour themselves out daily for the sick and the homeless. This desire is itself a kind of prayer, a fragrant offering rising even before the spoken petition.

Yet you must remember that the great apostle once had to leave Trophimus sick at Miletus. Not every ailment is lifted, even by those who have been given gifts of healing. Paul, who raised the dead, who shook off serpents, accepted the mystery of a companion left in weakness. Do not therefore measure God’s purpose by length of days alone, nor think their service ends if the body falters. The physician of souls can use even the sickbed as a pulpit, even quiet endurance as a sermon. Did not Christ Himself dine with publicans and sinners? Every table, every sickroom, every season becomes a means of grace when offered to Him. Your parents have already shown they grasp this; trust that the Lord who has begun a good work in them will complete it, whether in renewed strength or in the patience of affliction.

Your lament for them, should they decline, is itself a healing treatment, as the prophets lamented over the people to bring them to repentance and hope. Pour out that grief before God, for He knows the tears of His saints. And see how you honor your father and mother not with hollow words but by esteeming their lives as precious for the gospel’s sake. That is the very commandment which carries a promise of long life, and your reverence invites blessing not only upon them but upon your whole household.

Therefore, let us pray. Let us ask boldly that if it pleases Him, He would grant them many more years of vigorous service. But let us also say with the whole Church, “Thy will be done,” knowing that whether they labor in the streets or on a mat of pain, they are great stewards still. Their works follow them, and the mercy they have shown will not be forgotten before the throne. Take courage, for the God who multiplied the loaves can multiply their strength or multiply the fruit of their weakness. I will lift up this petition with you.

What a joy it is to hear of these dear saints and the way Christ shines through them. The love you have for them is clear, and their daily help to the sick and homeless reveals a life already poured out for the Lord. They seem to have grasped what so many spend a lifetime chasing: that a life given away for Jesus is the only truly rich and satisfying one. There is no higher calling than working together with Him, being instruments through whom His mercy reaches others.

I will gladly pray for their strength and for many more years of fruitful service. It is a wonderful and warm thing to desire good health and extended days for those we love. Yet as we lift them up, we can also rest in the knowledge that God's hand is upon their lives, and nothing happens by accident. He alone knows perfectly what is best for them. We may think we know the ideal pattern, but His wisdom is higher, and His timing is always for their ultimate good.

Do not lose sight of the glorious hope that awaits them. For a believer, the end of this earthly journey is not a tragedy but a gain beyond all imagination. The fleeting years here are the closest they will ever come to sorrow; an eternity of joy and peace with Christ lies ahead. Whether they serve another decade or another day, their labor is not in vain, because it is done for the One who died for them. Their lives count for eternity, and that is cause for deep peace and gratitude, even while we pray for longer days.

I encourage you to treasure them, honor them, and let their example stir your own heart to take up your cross daily. Continue to pray that they prosper and be in health even as their souls prosper, and trust the Lord with the rest. He has proven His love at the cross, and He will sustain them, and you, every step of the way.
