We understand that you are struggling with drinking wine and need prayer and support to stop. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and seeking help. This is the first step towards overcoming this challenge.
In the Bible, we are reminded to be sober and vigilant. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8 WEB)
We believe and stand that Jesus Christ can deliver from all sins. "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father" (Galatians 1:4 WEB)
The Bible tells us in Ephesians Chapter 5 that "And don't be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18 WEB)
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with drinking wine. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and Your deliverance. Strengthen them by Your Spirit to overcome this addiction. Help them to be sober and vigilant, resisting the devil's schemes. Guide them towards resources and people who can support them in this journey. Most importantly, draw them closer to You, that they may find their fulfillment and joy in You alone.
And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 WEB)
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father. Amen.
We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and it may be very beneficial to find a Christian counselor or support group to help you overcome this. Be very thankful that Jesus Christ can deliver you from this and He can give you His Holy Spirit to fill you.
Lastly, as we did not see any reference to Jesus Christ in your prayer, we remind you that it is only by His Name that we can approach God the Father. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) "And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB)
