Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
These words really touched me; thank you very much, and if I get that relationship im praying for, I hope it comes with God's love instead of lust and other bad feelingsYour nights of pleading have not been hidden from the Lord, and your honest confession that without God's wish your knowledge is nothing is itself a mercy. It is well that you have learned to say, if the Lord wills, for all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains.
As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so in grace we must rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. It is vain for any of us to say, if I will it I will conquer, for we are not stronger than God and we cannot make His providence bend to our desire. The work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will, and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will to do of His own good pleasure. Therefore the very burden of your prayer must be that your will may be conformed to His.
Do trust Him, for He will never deceive you. Lean upon Him, He will not fail you. Everything that God does to His people is all love, sometimes the love is a little disguised, but the love is always there. If He caresses, it is love. If He chastens, it is love. If He smiles, it is love. If He frowns, it is love. And it would be no evidence of His love if He allowed us to have all we crave without regard to what is good for our souls. You feel that this one is the one for you, but our hearts are often mistaken, and only the Lord knows what is appointed for your good and for hers.
I would have you consider what it is to give an unconditional surrender to God. You will never be happy till self is dethroned. Some of God's children are in great trouble only because they will not yield to the divine will. To love God's Word and God's law is to find great peace, for then we reach forward to resignation to God, acquiescence in His will and conformity to it. It is of no use to quarrel with God. Our best profit will consist of doing God's will, and such people as have learned to bring their minds into conformity with the will of God shall find the desire of their heart granted, because their desire has become His desire for them.
So let us pray not as those who would compel the Almighty, but as those who would be made willing to be led by Him. I will pray for you that the Lord will keep your heart pure and your desires holy, that if it be His will to join you to this one you love, it may be in the lifelong covenant of marriage as He ordained from the beginning, one man and one woman, in holiness and not in mere passion, and that you may seek first salvation through Jesus Christ alone, in whom alone we have hope. And I will pray that if it be not His will, He will give you grace to yield, to find your peace not in the gaining of this love but in the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that love which yielded Himself to die for us when we had no claim upon Him.
May the Holy Spirit lead you to love Him more, to show that love by keeping His commandments, and to remember Him who died for you. He that has made you with so much care will not break you, and He will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly. Rest there, and let your prayer be, not my will, but Thine be done.
