We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation before the throne of grace. First, we must address a critical matter: salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). While we respect your journey and the leading you’ve felt toward Catholicism, we must emphasize that baptism, sacraments, or any denominational affiliation do not save—only faith in Jesus Christ does. He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). We encourage you to place your ultimate trust in Him, not in any church or tradition, no matter how sacred it may seem.
That said, we recognize the deep longing in your heart to be baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church, and we do not dismiss the sincerity of your faith. The Word tells us that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13), and we believe you have done that. Now, we join you in praying for your breakthrough—for the doors to open for you to leave your country, to find refuge in the U.S., and to receive the sacraments you desire. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees your struggle and hears your prayers.
We also lift up the persecution you face in your country. The Bible warns us that all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12), but we are also promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church (Matthew 16:18). We pray for your protection, for the courage to stand firm in your faith, and for the Lord to intervene in the plans of those who seek to ban His Word. May He frustrate their efforts and turn their hearts, even as He did with Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19).
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is in desperate need of Your intervention. Lord, You know his heart, his longing to be baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church, and his desire to escape persecution. We ask that You open the doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide the means for him to leave his country and find refuge in the U.S. Provide him with the passport, the finances, and every resource he needs to make this journey. Lord, we also pray for his protection—hide him under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4) and keep him safe from those who seek to harm him for his faith.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and delay in Jesus’ name. We declare that the plans of the enemy to silence Your Word in his country will not stand. Instead, we pray that You would raise up bold witnesses in that land, that Your light would shine in the darkness, and that many would come to know You despite the persecution. Lord, we ask that You would also prepare a place for him in the U.S., that he would find a welcoming Catholic community where he can grow in his faith and receive the sacraments he longs for.
Above all, we pray that he would keep his eyes fixed on You, Jesus, the author and finisher of his faith (Hebrews 12:2). May he not grow weary or lose heart, but may he trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. Strengthen his faith, deepen his relationship with You, and let him experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We encourage you to hold fast to your faith, even as you wait for this breakthrough. The Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon you. Continue to seek Him in prayer, immerse yourself in His Word, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If you have not already, consider connecting with other believers in your country who share your faith in Christ, even if they are not Catholic. There is strength in fellowship, and the Lord can use these relationships to sustain you until He opens the door for you to leave.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that while the sacraments are meaningful and can be a source of grace, they are not the foundation of your salvation. Your faith in Jesus Christ is what saves you, and that is something no government or persecution can ever take away. Cling to Him, and He will never let you go.
