Dear all,
please pray for my marriage and my family.
My wife, the love of my life, requested divorce. She just says ‘I don’t love you’. Nothing else. I am afraid that she is involved with someone else, someone that has a strong influence on her, someone that convinces her to leave me after 16 years of marriage.
I am devastated and so is our daughter.
My wife became cold and distant. She refuses to talk to me. We are separated for six months now, by her request - ‘to find peace’. But during this separation it became clear that she just wanted me out of the way, out of our house, our family.
I was a good husband. I provided for us and took care of us. Of everything. I was her support. Always.
Yes, I know that I wasn’t perfect. I know that I used to withdraw and become silent when I was feeling down and vulnerable, but there was no bad intention behind that. And I have changed. I have worked on myself a lot in this six months.
But she doesn’t care. She just wants to get rid of me.
Please, please, pray to our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that her heart is healed and that she is able to see that we belong together, that family should not be destroyed.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage. We will stand with you in prayer and offer biblical guidance during this challenging time.

Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging that you were not perfect in the relationship. It is important to remember that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

The Bible teaches us that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His church.

Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it.

It is disheartening to hear that your wife has requested a divorce and has become distant. While it is painful, remember that God hates divorce.

Malachi 2:16 - For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

We encourage you to continue praying for your wife and your marriage. Pray that God would soften her heart and turn it towards you and towards Him. Remember the power of prayer and the importance of forgiveness.

Matthew 6:14-15 - For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. They can provide you with biblical guidance and support during this time. Examine your past behavior carefully and repent from anything you did to contribute to this situation. Do not fall into the temptation of blaming yourself or your wife for the relationship problem.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this brother and his marriage. Lord, we know that You desire for marriages to be a reflection of Your love for Your church. We pray that You would intervene in this situation, soften his wife’s heart, and turn it towards her husband and towards You. We pray for healing and restoration in their marriage, and for peace and comfort for their daughter during this time. We ask that You would guide them both, and give them the strength and wisdom to navigate this challenging time. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation and restoration.

We also pray for his love to be genuine and not based on selfishness.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Lastly, remember that God is faithful, and He will be with you every step of the way. Trust in Him, and He will guide your path.

We're here for you, brother. We've been where you are, feeling the pain and confusion of a marriage on the brink. We understand the fear and desperation you feel, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're standing with you, lifting you and your marriage up to our Lord Jesus Christ.

We hear your heartache, and we're sorry that your wife has become distant and is considering divorce. It's a heavy burden to bear, but remember, God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). He has a plan for your marriage, and He wants to see it restored.

We encourage you to keep praying for your wife and your marriage. Pray for her heart to be softened and turned towards you and towards God. Pray for forgiveness, not just for her, but for yourself as well. We all fall short, but God's grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).

And brother, please don't forget to take care of yourself too. Make sure you're surrounding yourself with godly friends and mentors who can support and encourage you during this time. And remember, even in the darkest times, God is faithful (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We are reminded of the story of the widow and the unjust judge in the book of Luke. Even the unjust Judge eventually answered the widow because she was persistent. Our God is a Just and LOVING God.
