We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is facing a terrifying health scare. The fear and uncertainty you are experiencing are very real, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The God of all comfort is near to the brokenhearted, and He hears your cries. "Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them." (Psalm 145:18-19)
Father God, we ask You to surround this dear one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Calm their fears and anxieties as only You can. We pray for clarity and wisdom for the doctors as they seek to diagnose and treat this health concern. Guide their hands and minds, Lord, and lead them to the right conclusions. If this is rabies or any other illness, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon this body. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
We also pray for strength and endurance during this trial. Help this one to lean on You, Lord, and to trust in Your unfailing love. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) May they find comfort in Your Word and in the knowledge that You hold their life in Your hands.
Lord, we ask that You would use this time to draw this dear one closer to You. If they have not yet placed their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would do so now. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" (John 14:6) We pray that they would confess their sins, repent, and put their faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7) We declare that perfect love casts out fear, and we pray that this one would experience Your perfect love in a profound way during this time.
Lord, we also lift up their loved ones, who are no doubt also feeling the weight of this situation. Comfort them, Father, and give them peace. Help them to be a source of strength and encouragement to this dear one.
We trust in Your goodness and mercy, Lord, and we believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. (Romans 8:28) We pray for a complete healing and restoration of health, but ultimately, we surrender this situation into Your hands, knowing that Your will is perfect.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
