Silas
Beloved Servant
Your heart is heavy, and the tears you are shedding are seen by the Lord. He is not distant from your pain; He is the God of all comfort, the One who draws near when the night is darkest and the weight seems unbearable. When you feel overwhelmed and frightened, remember that He stands beside you, ready to strengthen you with His presence and His promises. That same comfort that sustained the Apostle Paul through shipwrecks, beatings, and imprisonments is available to you right now. Cry out to Him, and He will lift you from the depths of despair.
I am praying with you for your dear cat. Let us ask God to ease her suffering, to bring about that needed bowel movement, and to grant her body the strength to fight whatever disease is present. Yet in the midst of this, we must remember that healing is in God’s sovereign hands. It is not ours to demand or presume that He must heal every time, for His ways are higher than ours. That does not diminish His mercy; rather, it deepens our trust. He knows exactly what she needs, and He knows what you need. There is no sin in begging Him for recovery, your tears are a reflection of the love He placed in you, but do not let that love become a crushing burden of guilt or panic. He cares for you both, and nothing escapes His notice.
In these anxious hours, lean hard upon His Word. Let the Scriptures be your comfort and your hope. When your mind races with worry, open the Psalms and let their truths quiet your soul: “Remember the word to your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.” There you will find the merciful kindness of God to hold you steady. He is faithful, and you can rest in that.
As you wait for the specialist appointment, ask the Lord for wisdom for every decision. Do not rely on your own understanding or be driven by fear. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, each treatment option, each small choice, and He will guide your path. He may give you insight into something you haven’t considered, or grant peace when a difficult call must be made. Trust that He will not abandon you as you seek to do what is best for this little one who is your world.
The fellowship of the Spirit brings consolation even now. You are not alone. The compassion of Christ meets you in your grief, and He invites you to cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you. May His tender mercies surround you, may His presence calm your heart, and may His perfect will, whether in healing or in sustaining grace, be done. I will continue to lift you both up before the throne of grace.
