Please pray for healing for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that God will heal my cat ###. She quit eating her dry food about 5 days ago... got her into the Vet and she most likely has an incurable bowel disease or cancer. They gave her anti-naseua meds and an appetite stimulant. So far, praise God, this is seeming to help. She ate a tiny amount of dry food this morning and alot of her treat. More than she has in days. She has an appointment with a specialist on ###... so please pray that God will allow this disease to be treatable. Please pray that this medication will continue to work and increase her appetite and help her to not suffer any longer. Please pray that God will continue to help her and heal her and that she won't get any worse...please pray for her to continue to get better everyday. And please pray that God will calm my brain and my heart and give my guidance on what to do. Thankyou. In Jesus' name I ask all of these things and in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We lift up your precious cat to the Lord, the Creator of all life, who cares even for the sparrows and knows every hair on our heads (Matthew 10:29-31). Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon her, whether through the hands of the veterinarians or through a miraculous work of Your grace. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:27). We pray that the medication she is receiving will continue to bring relief, that her appetite will grow stronger each day, and that she will be restored to full health. Lord, we also ask that You guide the specialist to provide the best possible care and that any underlying condition would be treatable according to Your will.

We also bring your heart before the Lord, dear sister in Christ. The love you have for your pet reflects the love God has placed in you, and it is natural to feel concern and distress when those we care for are suffering. We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, grant her wisdom and clarity as she makes decisions about her cat’s care, and let her trust in You grow even in this trial. Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold in this situation. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Even in the midst of uncertainty, we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

We thank You for the small victories, her eating a little this morning and responding to the medication. We praise You for Your faithfulness and ask that You continue to strengthen her body and bring her to full recovery. May Your name be glorified in this situation, whether through healing or through the comfort and peace You provide.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are so grateful for the access we have to You through Jesus, and we humbly ask that You hear our prayers and move on behalf of this beloved pet and her caretaker.

Lord, we also want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this time. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Let the truth of Scripture anchor your soul, and remember that God is close to you, even in the small details of life. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone in this, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting God to work in this situation according to His perfect will.

In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

We are praying with you for today. Thank you for letting us share this burden, your love for her comes through so clearly in every line, and we ache with you in the waiting and the not-knowing.

We are glad you were able to get her to the vet and that the medication is making even a small difference. That bit of dry food this morning and her interest in treats are rays of hope, and we are asking God to let this improvement continue. It is also a relief that she will see a specialist soon; you are doing everything you can for her.

In the meantime, we hear you asking for strength not just for but for your own heart and mind. When a beloved pet is ill, the uncertainty and the feeling of powerlessness can be overwhelming. That anxiety is not a failure of faith; it is a very human response to a situation that matters deeply to you. So we are not going to tell you to simply “calm down”, instead, we want to remind you that you do not have to carry this alone. You have brought before the Great Physician, and He cares about every creature He has made. He also cares about you, right in the middle of your worry.

As you head toward the specialist appointment, one small step that might help is to jot down notes each day, what eats, how she acts, your questions. Having a record can ease your mind a little and make the most of that visit. And give yourself permission to step away from the worry for a few minutes: a walk, a call with a friend, whatever lets you breathe.

Now we join you in praying:

Lord Jesus, we lift to You. Comfort her body, quiet any pain, and let the medicine keep working so her appetite grows and her strength returns. Guide the hands and the minds of the specialist, and please let this disease be treatable. For Your child who loves so much, we ask for a steady heart and a clear mind. Replace the racing thoughts with Your peace, and give practical wisdom in every decision. In Your name, Amen.

Consider the lilies of the field and the sparrows of the air; not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s notice. How much more does He regard the creatures that bring comfort to His children? It is no small thing to bring even a little cat before the throne of grace, for the Lord’s tender mercies are over all His works. You have seen a glimmer of hope already, a morsel eaten, a treat enjoyed. Bless the Lord for every crumb received, for it is a token of His kindness. He who gives the appetite and the healing medicine alike shall not fail to perfect that which concerns you and your little companion.

You ask for a treatable disease and relief from suffering. Does not the great Physician have leaves upon His tree for the healing of the nations, and shall there be no balm for your household? Trust His wisdom whether He works by the hand of the specialist or by a direct touch of His power. The same hands that took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses can calm this storm in a creature’s frame. Lay hold upon His garment, even the hem of it, and you shall find virtue flowing out for every need.

But I perceive another wound beneath your words, a trembling heart and a mind in turmoil. What says the prophet? “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.” The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when sorrows surge round about. Turn your gaze from the uncertainty of tomorrow and fix it upon the unchangeable Christ. He that forgave your sins and healed your soul knows well how to carry you through this trial. Cast this burden upon Him and leave it there; He has not appointed you to bear the weight alone.

Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and know that every secondary thing, even the life of a small beloved beast, is in His fatherly keeping. Yield yourself wholly to His will. When you submit, you find peace; when you trust, you discover that He does all things well. Cry to Him still, not with a fearful heart, but with the confidence of a child who knows that even the hairs of your head are numbered. The Lord bless you with calm, with guidance as clear as the noonday sun, and with the joy of seeing His goodness in the land of the living, yes, in your very home, in the daily mercies that whisper, “I have heard your prayer.”

I have heard your cry and joined my own prayers to yours for this small creature entrusted to your care. When the body of an animal or a person falls into an illness that seems beyond healing, the temptation is to despair or to seek to cut off the suffering member entirely. But what do we do with a foot or a hand that is diseased? We do not sever it. We apply every remedy we can, hoping to bring comfort even when a cure eludes us. So now, do not cast away your hope. The medicines that stir her appetite are a mercy to be received with thanksgiving. Whether the disease proves treatable or not, you are doing what love requires: tending a fragile life, bearing this burden with patience.

Let the peace of God stand as umpire in your heart. Right now, two thoughts are struggling within you: one cries out in fear and demands to know the future, the other says, “Trust, and endure whatever comes.” Do not let the clamor of anxiety win the prize. Human peace seeks guarantees and quick deliverance from pain, but the peace of Christ is fixed and steady. It rules even when the outcome is hidden. You have asked for guidance and calm. This is the guidance: keep doing the good that lies before you, care for your cat, and cast the rest upon God. Why are you so impatient to know all things? Some matters we must endure in ignorance for a time, lest by rushing to conclusions we entangle ourselves in worse distress. If the ground of your soul is overgrown with fearful imaginings, the Physician must first clear that before planting true trust.

I will pray that the Lord, who sees every sparrow, grant healing and ease to your cat. But I pray even more earnestly that your own heart be kept from an incurable fall into panic. There is no sin in loving a creature, but do not let that love become immoderate, driving you to make accusations without reason, to fight against the providence of God. He has made peace with you through Christ; now let that same peace rule in your thoughts. When you feel your mind begin to tear in two, set before it not resentment at this trial, but the remembrance that God is the lover of souls. He does not despise your grief. I will ask Him to bless the medicines, to guide the specialist, and to grant you the steadfast composure that comes only from above. Rest in this: you are not alone in your watchfulness. The prayers of the Church go with you.
