Disciple of Prayer
Dear Brother in Christ, Grace and peace to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My name is ###, a Christian from ###, ###. I humbly request your prayers during a very difficult season in my life. My family has experienced many hardships. My father suffered from paralysis for many years before passing away in ###. More recently, my beloved mother passed away in ### after suffering three heart attacks and a paralysis attack. Since losing both of my parents, I have been carrying the responsibility of supporting my family. I worked faithfully for ten years at the ### and later joined ### as a ###. I am now working in a private company as a ### in a very nominal salary. I also have a younger sister who is over ### years of age and remains dependent on the family. My younger brother is married and has three children. Although he works hard, he is unable to meet the family's financial needs. In addition, my ###-year-old brother has the mental capacity of a ###-year-old child and requires ongoing care and support. I earnestly ask all the people of God to please pray to our Lord Jesus Christ on my behalf. Please pray that He will miraculously open a door of employment for me in ###, even if it is on a contract basis. Opportunities are extremely limited for us here, and I believe that God is able to create a way where there seems to be no way. Please join me in praying that the Lord will guide my steps, provide the right opportunity, and enable me to support my family with dignity and hope. Thank you for remembering me in your prayers. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly for standing with us in faith. In Christ, ### H NO ### ### Floor ### ### ###, ###. Zip code ### Cell: ###

We hear your heart, dear brother in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up your burdens before the throne of grace. The weight of losing both parents, carrying the responsibility of your family, and facing financial hardship is heavy, but we know that our God is a God of provision, comfort, and miraculous breakthrough. You have shown great faithfulness in your work and care for your family, and we believe the Lord sees your labor of love and will reward you.

First, we rebuke the spirit of heaviness and despair that may be trying to overwhelm you in this season. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 61:3 that God gives us "the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness." We pray that the Lord would lift this weight from your shoulders and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Though the loss of your parents is deep, we pray that the Holy Spirit would comfort you as only He can, reminding you that they are now resting in the arms of Jesus, free from pain and suffering.

We also rebuke any spirit of lack or limitation that may be speaking lies to you about your situation. The enemy would love for you to believe that there is no way forward, but we declare that our God is the God of the impossible. He parted the Red Sea, provided manna in the wilderness, and raised the dead, surely He can open a door of employment for you where none seems to exist. We stand on His promise in Philippians 4:19: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that the Lord would not only meet your financial needs but also provide in ways that bring dignity, hope, and even joy to your family.

We lift up your younger sister and brother who depend on you, as well as your brother with special needs. Father, we ask that You would give our brother wisdom in caring for them, patience in the daily challenges, and strength when he feels weary. We pray that You would provide for their needs in ways that only You can, whether through unexpected blessings, the kindness of others, or miraculous provision. We also pray for your married brother and his family, may the Lord bless his labor and open doors for him as well, so that together, you can support one another as a family.

Now, we pray specifically for the door of employment you are asking the Lord to open. Heavenly Father, we ask that You would guide our brother’s steps to the right opportunity, even if it is not what he expects. We pray that You would go before him, preparing the hearts of those who will interview him or consider him for a position. Give him favor, Lord, and let Your light shine through him so that employers see not just his skills, but Your hand upon his life. We declare that no weapon formed against his success shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every closed door will be replaced by one that You have ordained to open. Whether it is a contract position or something more permanent, we ask that it would be a blessing to him and his family, providing stability and hope for the future.

We also encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God is your Provider, not your job or your circumstances. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Continue to seek the Lord in prayer, in His Word, and in fellowship with other believers. Do not isolate yourself in this season, but allow the body of Christ to come alongside you, just as we are doing now. The Lord often works through His people to meet needs, so be open to how He may provide through others.

Finally, we want to remind you that your identity is not in your circumstances or even in your role as a provider for your family. Your identity is in Christ, who loved you and gave Himself for you (Galatians 2:20). You are a child of the Most High God, and He has a purpose and a plan for your life that goes beyond your current struggles. We pray that you would find your strength and hope in Him, knowing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother and his family to You. Lord, You see the depth of his heart, the weight of his responsibilities, and the challenges he faces. We ask that You would be his strength when he is weak, his peace when he is anxious, and his provider when he is in need. Father, we rebuke every spirit of lack, despair, and limitation that is trying to steal his hope. We declare that You are the God who opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we ask that You would open a door of employment for him in this season. Guide his steps, Lord, and let Your favor go before him.

We pray for his family, Father. Provide for their needs, comfort them in their grief, and give them unity and strength as they lean on one another. We ask that You would bless his younger sister and brother, as well as his brother with special needs, with Your grace and provision. Give our brother wisdom in caring for them, and let Your love be evident in every decision he makes.

Lord, we also pray for his faith. Strengthen him in the knowledge that You are his Jehovah Jireh, his Provider. Remind him that You are not limited by his circumstances, and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that he could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Fill him with Your peace, joy, and hope as he waits on You.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and we declare that this situation will turn around for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Brother , we have read your letter and we feel the weight of all you carry. Losing both parents, your father after years of paralysis, your mother so recently, leaves a deep ache. And you did not simply grieve and move on; you stepped into the role of provider for your sister, your brother and his family, and your younger brother who needs constant care. That is a burden that would bring anyone to the end of their own strength. We honor the faithfulness you have shown, working for years, doing whatever honest work you could find, and now asking God to open a door that seems impossible.

We are joining you in praying for just such an opening, perhaps a contract position in , or some other opportunity you have not yet imagined. God knows every detail of your situation: the limited options, the dependents, the urgent need. We ask Him to guide your steps in very practical ways, to lead you to the right people or information, and to make a way where none is visible right now.

While you wait and watch, we want to encourage you not to carry this alone. If there is a local fellowship of believers you can lean on, even a small one, do not hesitate to let them know your needs. God often provides through His people, and practical help, introductions, or simply shared prayers can make a difference.

Please know you are not forgotten. We sit with you before the throne of grace.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our brother to You. You see his fatigue, his love for his family, and his hope that You will provide. Open a door of employment for him, in Your perfect timing. Give him wisdom as he seeks work, and sustain his heart with the comfort only You can give for the losses he still carries. Strengthen him day by day, and let him see Your hand at work. In Your name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The Lord has not left you comfortless in this time of tribulation. You have known the bitter grief of watching a father paralyzed, then taken, and a mother smitten again and again till her frail frame could bear no more. These are deep waters, but there is a fountain opened for the removing of all that uncleanness which clings to the soul in the hour of sorrow. That fountain is open still, for the child of God at his lowest, for the weary heart that fears it is growing cold. Wash there and be revived. The very One who permitted these strokes has felt them with you, and He does not afflict willingly. Bowing in submission to His will is itself the surest guidance.

You cry for the opening of a door of employment, and your eye is toward the West, toward America. This is no small matter when so many depend upon your labor, a sister unmarried, a brother whose mind is as a little child’s, and others whose burdens you carry. But remember, there is never an hour when God’s own door will not open to any who come for counsel. Go to the Mercy Seat with your mouth wide open. He who says, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it,” is Jehovah, the God who brought His people out of Egypt. He is not straitened by the paltry limits of this or that land. He can create a way where all visible paths are blocked. Set the big gates wide open in your expectation, for the Lord’s provision is not given in thimblefuls but in abundance.

The door into every true provision is a Person. Jesus says, “I am the door.” Do not sit upon the doorstep as if that were the end, but pass through. You ask for a contract, for a mere opening, but seek first His kingdom, and these things shall be added. Do not let haste breed mischief. The Lord’s timing is perfect, and His open deed of covenant love is both sealed in heaven and left open for you to read upon earth. Is it not written, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”? That is your evidence. The open volume of the Word is your guarantee.

Make no mistake: the door of mercy is open for sinners, and it is open for saints in their need. You came to Christ long ago, I trust, now come again. He that comes He will in no wise cast out. Lay hold of this promise with both hands. The fountain is not frozen by your winter of affliction; the door is not slammed shut by your poverty or your location. There is provision made for great filthiness, great weakness, great necessity. Let your prayer be bold, for you go not to a grudging master but to a Father who knows what you need before you ask. Seek His guidance by the principles of His Word: avoid all evil, walk uprightly, and watch for the opening He will surely bring in His own time.

Our landlord is selling the house we live in and we need to move. We’d like prayers that God would reveal where we should move and he’d provide a way that we can afford as well. Praying in Jesus name that we’ll find the right place for our family.
