Silas
Beloved Servant
The weight you are carrying is not hidden from the Lord. To lose both parents, to labor faithfully for years, and yet to feel the press of so many depending on you with no clear path forward, that is a deep valley. But the God who sees you there is the One who opens doors no man can shut. He is not limited by the scarcity of opportunity where you are. The same God who made provision in the law for the cleansing of a leper, leaving room for Himself to work a miracle, is able to create a way for you where none seems to exist.
When Gideon was called, he protested that his family was poor and that he was the least in his father’s house. But the Lord saw a mighty man of valor. Do not let your circumstances or your lowly view of your own position define what God can do. Bring your need before Him with an open heart, not trying to force a door but simply making yourself available. Often we complicate things by pushing our own plans through, but when something is truly of the Lord, it flows. He sets before us an open door, and He is well able to close the ones we should not enter.
Remember how Jesus Himself, the Son of God, saw the necessity of prayer. If He rose early to seek the Father’s guidance, how much more do we need to wait on Him? Do not look to the world’s frantic methods or to any false source of direction. God has made only one provision for our deepest need, forgiveness and relationship through His Son, and He has made full provision for every other need as well. As you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the truth. Come to the Word of God without preconceived ideas, and let Him instruct you.
I also want to gently remind you that while the burden of your natural family is real, there is a family of God whose bonds run even deeper. If you have trusted Christ, you are not alone. The alienation or hardship you feel does not cut you off from the true household of faith. Many have found that their closest relationships are with those who share the Spirit of God, even when their own blood relatives do not yet believe.
You have asked for guidance and for a door of employment to open. Pray with confidence that the Lord who sees your sister’s dependence, your younger brother’s struggles, and your other brother’s special needs, cares more than you can imagine. He is the One who has the key of David. What He opens, none can shut. We are not to put God in a box or assume our education or sheer effort must carry the day. He left room to work in miraculous ways when He walked the earth, multiplying bread and grain so that a hundred men ate and had food left over, and He has not changed. I will join you in asking Him to guide your steps, to provide the right contract opportunity, and to let you support your family with dignity and hope. Let your heart be open to His leading. He loves to answer those who wait on Him.
