We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, but we are here to pray and support you in this challenging time. We believe that God's heart is for marriage, and He has the power to heal and restore even the most broken situations.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we come to God the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." So, let us come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. In Jesus name.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear sister and her husband, asking for Your divine intervention in their marriage. Father, You hate divorce, and we know that it is not Your will for their union to end. We stand in the gap, Lord, believing for a miracle in their situation.
Lord, we pray specifically for her husband, that You would soften his heart and free him from past hurt, unforgiveness, pain, and bitterness. That You would draw him to Yourself, and that he would surrender his heart and life to You. We pray for their marriage to be healed. As the psalmist said: "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
Father, we pray that You would renew their love for each other, that their marriage would be stronger and more united than ever before. We speak life and restoration over their marriage, and we decree that divorce will not be their portion. We claim Your promises in Isaiah 61:7 WEB: "Instead of your shame you shall have double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be to them."
Lord, guide them as they navigate this difficult time, and give them wisdom and discernment. Surround them with godly counsel and support, and help them to be a light and testimony to the world of Your healing and restoring power.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you, dear sister, to continue to stand in faith and believe for God's best in your situation. Trusting in Isaiah 41:10 WEB: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to be patient and long suffering in your marriage. In Ephesians 5:22-33 we are told: "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. 'For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.' This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
