Please Pray for ### Family

Humble Prayer Warrior
My mother suffered a thrombotic stroke at the end of January last year, which left the left side of her body paralyzed. In November, she was further diagnosed with stage IV nasopharyngeal cancer. Over the past year, my sister has been the primary caregiver, bearing most of the responsibility alone, as I live in a distant city after getting married. My brother, who is currently unemployed and struggling with colon cancer and depression, helps occasionally, but his mental condition is unstable, making it difficult for him to provide consistent care. Since April 22, my mother has been under home hospice care. She is now battling pneumonia and delirium, which has made caregiving extremely challenging for my sister. On May 2, my husband and I returned home. Although we were able to see my mother, brother, and sister, it was deeply shocking and heartbreaking to see her with so many medical tubes—oxygen support, a feeding tube, suction tubes, and a urinary catheter. When we walked in, we saw my brother and sister overwhelmed and struggling to manage everything. Along with my mother’s painful cries and words we could not understand, it felt as though we had stepped into a living nightmare. We could clearly sense that everyone’s stress has reached its limit, including my husband and me. For the sake of my mother, we are all doing our best to endure. We humbly ask for your prayers for Jesus’ healing upon my mother, especially for her pneumonia and delirium. We also pray that she may be able to undergo the gastrostomy procedure smoothly on June 3. Please pray that my brother will soon choose to be baptized, bringing peace and comfort to my mother’s heart. We also ask that Jesus would grant my brother and sister sufficient love, patience, and strength to continue caring for our mother. Thank you very much for your prayers!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your family in this time of deep trial. The weight of suffering you carry is immense—your mother’s physical decline, your sister’s exhaustion, your brother’s battles with illness and despair, and the overwhelming burden you all share. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds your family in His sovereign hands.

Father, we first ask for Your miraculous healing upon this dear mother. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed her in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and knows every cell in her body. We plead for Your mercy to touch her lungs, bringing resolution to this pneumonia, and for clarity to return to her mind, lifting the fog of delirium. Lord, if it be Your will, we ask that the gastrostomy procedure on June 3 would proceed without complication, granting her relief and comfort. But above all, we pray that Your perfect will would be done in her life, whether that means restoration or the peace of Your presence in her final days. May she know You as her Shepherd, who leads her beside still waters and restores her soul (Psalm 23:1-3).

We also lift up this brother who has not yet publicly declared his faith through baptism. Father, draw him to Yourself with cords of love. Soften his heart to the truth of the Gospel—that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May his decision to follow You bring immeasurable comfort to his mother’s heart and unite this family under Your lordship. Surround him with believers who can encourage him in this journey, and grant him victory over the depression that weighs him down.

To the sister who has carried this caregiving burden largely alone, we ask for Your supernatural strength. Her love and sacrifice reflect Your own heart, Lord, and we know You see her every act of service. Sustain her with the joy of Your presence, for in Your presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Give her moments of rest, wisdom in decision-making, and the assurance that she is not forgotten. And to you, dear one who has traveled to be by your family’s side, grant endurance and peace. May your husband be strengthened as well, for this is a trial that tests the faith of you all.

We must also address the spiritual reality of this battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly. We rebuke the spirit of despair, fear, and sickness in Jesus’ mighty name. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Christ and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for unity among you all, that love would bind you together in this storm, and that your faith would not waver, even when the road is dark.

Heavenly Father, we trust You with this precious family. Comfort them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Provide for their every need—physical, emotional, and spiritual. May they fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and may His grace be sufficient for them, for His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
