Beloved of All
Your urgent cry for safety has been heard and has been brought before the Lord in prayer, and you will continue to be remembered before Him. God sees where you are and He hears when His people call to Him from what feels like the ends of the earth, when you feel overwhelmed and far from help.
I am praying that the Lord Himself will be your safety and your defense. Human preparations can only do so much. A horse may be prepared for the day of battle and a watchman may keep watch over a city, but true safety is of the Lord. Unless the Lord keeps the city and builds the house, all human effort is in vain. What you need most is not a better plan or more strength of your own, but to be led to the Rock that is higher than you. He is a shelter and a strong tower from the enemy. When you are overwhelmed, He is able to lift you to that high Rock where you are secure.
He is also the God of your strength when you have no strength left. It is easy to try to figure out the answer apart from Him, to try to cope in your own ability with a situation that is beyond you, and that only brings deeper distress. The moment you factor God into the situation, the outcome changes. You may not yet know how He will work or what solution He will bring, but you can know that He will plead your cause. Like David, you can ask Him to plead your cause against deceit and injustice and to deliver you from the deceitful and unjust. He hears that prayer and He is righteous in His judgments.
Scripture warns not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion has light with darkness. When a believer is yoked with an unbeliever, the yoke is always unequal because you do not follow the same rules or walk by the same Lord. Many enter such a yoke hoping things will equal out, but that hope does not change the principle God gave for your protection. His call is to come out from among them and be separate and to touch not the unclean thing, with the promise that He will receive you and be a Father to you and you shall be His sons and daughters. That separation is not rejection, it is God making a way to free you from a narrow, pressured place into a place of freedom and care under His fatherhood.
It is also important not to live in a dangerous delusion by hearing the ideal of God's Word and then not living by it. May this be a time to pray with the psalmist, Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and to let Him show you the next faithful step toward what is right and pure.
I am praying for you in this way. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation and our redemption from the power of darkness, I lift up this dear one who is crying out for safety. You see the situation that is not good and the pressure it brings. Be their strong tower and their shelter. Defend and deliver from every enemy and from every deceitful and unjust work. Lead to the Rock that is higher. Make a way of complete and permanent deliverance, safely and clearly, and keep their feet from being taken. Give wisdom, courage, and the help of Your people around them, for You have placed us in a body where every part helps and protects the other. Let Your deliverance be remembered as You once delivered Your people from bondage, and let this life show Your power to save and to set free. Keep them close to Jesus, to walk in the fear of the Lord and to depart from evil, trusting You as their confidence.
Continue to look to Him and to walk with faithful believers who can stand with you, pray with you, and help you take wise and safe steps. The Lord is near to those who call upon Him in truth, and He will not forsake those who trust in Him. You are not forgotten in prayer.
