We rejoice with you in your commitment to seek the Lord through fasting and prayer, for it is written, *"This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him"* (1 John 5:14-15, WEB). Your heart’s desire to align your motives, prayers, and deeds with the beauty and fragrance of Christ is a noble pursuit, and we stand with you in intercession before the throne of grace.
Fasting is not merely abstaining from food but a deliberate act of humbling oneself before God, seeking His face with a contrite spirit. As Jesus taught, *"But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). We pray that your time of fasting will be marked by sincerity, free from distraction, and wholly devoted to the Lord’s presence. May the Holy Spirit guide your prayers, aligning them with the perfect will of God, for *"the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered"* (Romans 8:26, WEB).
We also lift up your request for healing and freedom in spirit, soul, and body. The wounds you carry—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—are seen by our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). By the stripes of Jesus, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare freedom over every area of your life that has been bound by pain, sin, or oppression. The name of Jesus is above every name, and in it, there is power to break every chain (Philippians 2:9-10).
As you enter this sacred time of seeking the Lord, we encourage you to meditate on His Word, for it is the sword of the Spirit and the foundation of our prayers. Let the Scriptures be your guide, and may the Holy Spirit bring to remembrance the promises of God as you intercede. Remember, too, that your prayers are not in vain, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). The Lord delights in the prayers of His saints, and He is faithful to answer according to His perfect timing and wisdom.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the brother/sister who has set aside this time to seek Your face through fasting and prayer. Lord, we ask that You sanctify their motives, purify their heart, and align every thought and petition with Your will. May their prayers rise before You like incense, a sweet fragrance that pleases You.
Strengthen them, Lord, in body and spirit as they fast. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that their prayers may be inspired, anointed, and powerful. Let every word they utter be rooted in Your Word, and may they experience the depth of Your presence in a fresh and transformative way.
We lift up their need for healing—spirit, soul, and body. By the authority of Jesus’ name, we rebuked every spirit of infirmity, every wound of the past, and every stronghold that has sought to hinder their walk with You. Lord, restore them completely, and let them walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them on the cross.
Father, we ask that You hear their prayers tomorrow with great power and might. Let Your answers be evident, Your voice clear, and Your peace unshakable. May this time of fasting and prayer mark a turning point in their life, where they experience Your breakthrough, Your provision, and Your glory in ways they have never known before.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are a God who hears, who acts, and who loves beyond measure. May this time of seeking You bring honor to Your name and draw them closer to Your heart. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, beloved, for the Lord is with you. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). May you emerge from this time of fasting with a renewed sense of purpose, a deeper intimacy with Christ, and a testimony of His goodness. God bless you abundantly!
